Wisdom in Advertising.
If Wisdom's ways you'd wisely seek. These things observe with care: Of whom you speak, to whom you speak, And how and when and where.
These lines involve the greatest principle of advertising. We have learned the necessity of following this advice. We can tell you how to advertise wisely. It is our business to know of what we speak, and to know if it is a salable commodity. It is our busi- ness to know to whom we speak, and to select the proper mediums for that purpose.
How to say what we have to say in writing advertisements is also our business. Where to say it for the best advantage, the nature of the article advertised considered, deserves careful study; and when to say it, in order that the advertising may be season- able, is of the most vital importance.
Write us and let us explain to you how it is that these little things, when properly followed out, will make advertising a success.
Our Study.
How to arrange advertisements that will help you to sell goods FOR CASH.
When you can advertise with best results.
Where as regards locality, and in what publications you should spend money.
How Much space you need to use to reap the greatest benefit from your investment.
How Little it is possible to use to secure full value for your investment.
This is and has been our ceaseless study for fifty years. We should be pleased to make its application to your business our business.

CITY AND TOWN REGISTER
AND
BUSINESS DIRECTORY.
EXPLANATIONS .- The towns and cities are arranged in alphabetical order, with the execution of the city of Boston, which oceurs at the end of the book on tinted paper.
It has been the intention to make the list of business firms complete for each town, and great pains and labor have been expended to attain this end. Names are not entered. however, under more than one classi- fication unless in entirely separate and distinct lines of business. Before conelnding that some name has been omitted, please make sure that you have looked under the right heading before condemning the book. A uniform system of e!assification has been used throughout, with some minor alterations to suit local condi- tions.
Under the head of " Clergymen and Churches" the strect addresses given are those of the pastors and not of the churches.
The population figures given are based on the State eensus of 1895.
The presiding officer in lists of Boards and Counnittees is designated by the letters ch. after the name. Unless otherwise mentioned the post office address of all parties is that of the town name itself.
Constables who have given bonds and are thereby qualified to serve civil writs, are designated by the word (civil) after the name.
