SPECIAL TOWN MEETING March 24, 1926
ยท On a Warrant duly issued by the Selectmen and dated March 9, 1926, and signed by Thomas B. Mulvehill, Edmund G. Dalton, Harold W. Baker and Arthur J. Forrest, Selectmen of Norwood, the proper service of which Warrant was duly attested by J. Irving Reid, Constable of Norwood.
All of the requirements of the Statutes and By-Laws relating to Town Meetings having been complied with, the meeting was called to order by the Moderator. James A. Halloran, the Articles contained in this Warrant and the action taken thereunder being as follows:

Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to accept and allow as a public way, under the provisions of the law authorizing the assessment of better- ments, a new way to be known as Cleveland Street as laid out by the Se- lectmen, and raise and appropriate a sum sufficient to meet the estimated expense of laying out and constructing said new way, or take any other action in the matter.
Voted: To accept and allow under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments the sum of $2,500.00 by taxation, as part of the construction item for highways under Article 6, Subdivision D, Warrant of Annual Meeting.

To see what further sum of money the Town will vote to raise and borrow and appropriate for the purpose of constructing a new school building for Senior High School Grades and for the purchase of original equipment and furnishings for said building, as authorized by law; said sum to be in addition to the sums heretofore appropriated for said purpose under Article 11 of the Special Town Meeting of March 24, 1925; under Article 8 of the Warrant of the Special Town Meeting of March 20, 1924, and under Article 5 of the Warrant of the Special Town Meeting held December 28, 1923, or take any other action in the matter.

1. Main drain leading from Chapel Street northeasterly through lands of William P. Nickerson and John Q. Peterson.
2. Main drain leading through Vernon Street, being a proposed ex- tension of Vernon Street through lands of Iva P. Gove and further through land of the Norwood Housing Association, Inc., to an existing main drain.
3. Main drain leading from Pleasant Street to Willow Street at the junction of Lenox Street and thence to the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad, Midland Division location.

Article 15. To see if the Town will accept and allow a certain public park known as the Shattuck Memorial Park as located by the Selectmen pursuant to a gift thereof by Emma L. Shattuck and to authorize the Se- lectmen to accept conveyance of title to said park, ratifying and confirming the action taken with respect thereto at the Special Town Meeting held December 29, 1924.

On a Warrant duly issued by the Selectmen and dated April 13, 1926, and signed by Thomas B. Mulvehill, Edmund G. Dalton, Arthur J. Forrest, Eugene Endicott and Harold W. Baker, Selectmen of Norwood, the proper service of which Warrant was duly attested by Henry C. Breen, Constable of Norwood.
All of the requirements of the Statutes and By-Laws relating to Town Meetings having been complied with, the meeting was called to order by the Moderator, James A. Halloran, the Articles contained in this Warrant and the action taken thereunder being as follows:
Article 1. To see what sum the Town will vote to appropriate as salary of an official to be known as Chief of the Fire Department, such amount so appropriated to be available from the appropriation for salaries voted by the Town at the Adjourned Annual Meeting of March 24, 1926.
Voted: By transfer the sum of $1,460.00.
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to take and hold a certain parcel or parcels of land by way of gift in accordance with the terms of such gift, or take any other action in the matter.
