Article 16. To see if the Town will vote to accept of the provisions of Chap. 351 of the Acts of the Legislature for the year 1930 which reads as follows:
An Act authorizing City and Towns to appropriate money for the purchase of uniforms for the members of their Police and Fire De- partments.
Chap. 40 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after Section 6A insert by Chap. 223 of the Acts of the current year, the fol- lowing Section:
Section 6B. A city or town which accepts this Section may appropriate money for the purchase of uniforms for members of its police and fire departments.
Voted: To so accept the provisions of Chap. 351 of the Acts of the Legis- lature for the year 1930, namely Section 6B.
Article 17. To see if the Town will vote to change the name of a public way accepted by vote of the Town as Pond Street so that said way shall be called Oak Road, or take any other action in the matter.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
April 1, 1931
On a Warrant duly issued by the Selectmen and dated March 21, 1931, and signed by Edmund G. Dalton, Harold W. Baker, Herbert A. Baker, Peter J. Feeney, Selectmen of Norwood, the proper service of which War- rant was duly attested by Thomas C. Lydon, Constable of Norwood.
All of the requirements of the Statutes and By-Laws relating to Town Meetings having been complied with, the meeting was called to order by the Moderator, James A. Halloran, the articles contained in this Warrant and the action thereunder being as follows:
Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to construct an addition to the Senior High School Building and raise and borrow and appropriate a sum of money for said purpose and to appoint a committee to expend said sum for said purpose, or to act otherwise in relation to said matter.
Voted: By taxation the sum of $7,000.00 and by borrowing the sum of $48,000.00 for construction of an addition to the Senior High School Building and a committee of five appointed by the Moderator and author- ized to expend said sums for said purposes, the committee appointed being as follows: Gladwin M. Nead, Chairman, John J. Conley, Edward H. Allen, Thomas H. Hayden and J. Victor Carlson.
Article 2. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to appropriate from the receipts of the School Department for the purchase of equipment.
Voted: From receipts of the School Department in the Town Treasury the sum of $1,200.00.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
April 13, 1931
On a Warrant duly issued by the Selectmen and dated April 3, 1931, and signed by Edmund G. Dalton, Harold W. Baker and Peter J. Feeney, Selectmen of Norwood, the proper service of which Warrant was duly attested by Thomas C. Lydon, Constable of Norwood.
All of the requirements of the Statutes and By-Laws relating to Town Meetings having been complied with, the meeting was called to order by the Moderator, James A. Halloran, the articles contained in this Warrant and the action thereunder being as follows:
Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to offer to the United States Government for a consideration, a choice of land on Guild Street owned by the Town, namely, the so-called Guild School lot, the Everett School lot or the Band Stand lot as a site for the location of a future Federal Post Office Building, or take any other action in the matter. (on petition.)
Voted: That the Selectmen are authorized to offer to the United States Government a part of one of the parcels of land owned by Town situated on Guild Street and sometimes known as Everett School lot, as post office site, and further authorize the Selectmen to sell and convey for not less than the minimum price of seventy-five cents per square foot approxi- mately 29,200 square feet of said parcel or such part thereof as United States Government may desire, said area being that part of said parcel lying northerly of lands of Frank C. Taylor, Adelina R. Taylor and Nor- wood Hospital Inc., and fronting on Guild Street and on a proposed ex- tension of Central Street. Further voted to instruct the Selectmen to file with assistant secretary of the treasury, on or before 9 A. M. April 17, 1931 form 8834 Treasury Department Architect fulfilling requirements called for in form, giving information with reference to a proposal to sell lot of land for a post office site. After discussion was had on the merits of the motion as presented, a report was submitted by Charles E. Houghton Chairman of the Planning Board, and rising vote returned as follows, voting in the affirmative, five hundred fifteen (515) and voting in the negative four hundred nine (409), and motion was declared carried.
James M. Folan offered a motion under Article 1 relative to a parcel referred to as Lot A on certain plans which were exhibited. This motion was withdrawn by Mr. Folan.
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to request the Selectmen to inform the appropriate officials of the Government of the United States that the preference of the voters of Norwood for the site of the proposed Federal Post Office Building is a parcel of land, situated in the Town Square in said Norwood, owned by Norwood Estates, Inc., containing 28,572 square feet of land, said parcel being bounded by Nahatan Street,

Broadway, Cottage Street East and a private way extending from Cottage Street East to Nahatan Street, or take any other action in the matter. (on petition.)
Voted: Action under this article indefinitely postponed.
Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to request the Selectmen to inform the appropriate officials of the Government of the United States that the preference of the voters of Norwood for the site of the proposed Federal Post Office Building is the parcel of land owned by Theise and Hyde and fronting on Washington Street and or Central Street and ad- joining the Memorial Municipal Building lot, or take any other action in relation thereto. (on petition.)
Voted: To so request the Selectmen to inform the appropriate officials of the Government of the United States that the preference of the voters of Norwood is the parcel of land on Washington Street owned by Theise and Hyde and adjoining Memorial Municipal Building lot-after motion had been put to meeting, a motion was offered to indefinitely postpone, which, the Moderator ruled was not in order, and on rising vote the follow- ing was returned-voting in the affirmative three hundred thirty-nine and voting in the negative three hundred thirty. Motion declared carried.
