Index
This index lists material found in this Volume. Each subsequent volume will contain an individual index. All indexes will contain entries of a historical, sociological, and religious, as well as of a genealogical nature, since it is evident that the Town Records be of value to students in these fields.
Genealogists will find that certain individuals may be listed under more than one entry, due to the various military, civil, and religious titles acquired by these people and to the frequent scarcity of information con- tained in the Records themselves.
Quaint and inconsistent spellings of surnames also presented a prob- lem and it is hoped that this method of indexing individuals exactly as listed in the Records, whenever the identity was in slight doubt, will prove the most satisfactory method to users of these volumes.
