The cards of instructions, penalty cards, specimen ballots, and copies of Measure to be submitted to the people, received from the Town Clerk, having been duly posted, the Warrant herein before recorded was

read by the Precinct Clerk. The ballot box was exam- ined by the Precinct Officers and found to be empty the register indicated 0000.
The sealed packages received from the Town Clerk, containing the official ballots were opened by the Pre- siding Election Officers in the presence of the other Precinct Officers, the ballots were delivered by him to the Ballot Clerks.
The Polls were declared open at eight o'clock A. M.
During the voting the ballot box was opened by unanimous consent of the Warden and Clerk four times for the purpose of taking out, sorting, and count- ing the ballots, first at 1:45 o'clock P. M. when it reg- istered 499, then at 3:45 o'clock P. M. when it regis- tered 700, then at 5:55 o'clock P. M. when it regis- tered 1001, then at the close of the polls 8 o'clock P. M. when it registered 1360. The ballot box register showed three more numbers than the number of bal- lots cast.
The Inspectors appointed to canvass and count the ballots began their duties at four o'clock P. M.
The polls were declared closed at eight o'clock P. M.
After the closing of the polls the Officers in charge of the voting lists audibly counted and announced the whole number of names checked on the voting lists to be 1357.
The ballots having been sorted and counted by the proper Officers were recorded and declared in open meeting to be as hereinafter set forth. Whole num- ber of ballots cast 1357, twenty-one of the above num- ber of ballots cast being from Absentee Voters.
The ballots cast were sealed in envelopes and placed in a case and sealed. The unused ballots were placed in a case and sealed.
The voting lists used at the ballot box and at the tables were sealed, and the used and unused ballots also sealed were delivered to the Town Clerk as the law requires.
The result of the ballot was announced at 2:45 o'clock A. M., November 4, 1936.

EIGHTH WORCESTER REPRESENTATIVE DIS- TRICT, assembled at the Office of the TOWN CLERK of Grafton, at 12 o'clock noon, on Friday, the thir- teenth day of November A. D. 1936, which is the tenth day following the day of election, and canvassed the returns of votes cast in said towns for TWO REPRE- SENTATIVES IN THE GENERAL COURT, to be hold- en in Boston on the first Wednesday of January next. Said votes were returned to us as by law required and were given in at legal meetings held in each of said. towns for that purpose on the third day of November, A. D. 1936, and is shown by the following tabular statement :-
