WARRANT FOR ANNUAL TOWN MEETINGS, MARCH 1, 10, 1937.
COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.
Worcester, ss.
To either Constable of the Town of Milford, in said County, Greeting :
In the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town, qualified by law to vote in Elections to meet at the polling places of their respective Precincts, to wit:
In Precinct 1. In Dewey Hall, Town Hall building.
In Precinct 2. In Plains Grammar School, East Main Street.
In Precinct 3. in Chapin Street School, Chapin Street.
In Precinct 4. In South Grammar (Brick School), Main Street.
In Precinct 5. In Park Portable School, Walnut Street, on Monday. the first day of March, A. D. 1937, at eight o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to bring in to the Wardens of their several Precincts their votes for the follow- ing named Town Officers, to wit:
A Town Clerk, Town Treasurer, Tax Collector, Three Selectmen, Highway Surveyor, all for one year; One Assess- or (Three years), One Member of the Board of Public Welfare (Three years), One Member of the Board of Health (Three years), One Sewer Commissioner (Three years), Two Members of the School Committee (Three years), Two Trustees of Public Library (Three years), Two Trustees of Vernon Grove Cemetery (Three years), One Park Com- missioner (Three years), One Member of the Planning Board (Three years), a Tree Warden (One year), a Moder- ator (One year), Five Constables (One year).
And to vote "Yes" or "No" on the following question :
"Shall Section One hundred five B of Chapter One hun- dred thirty-one of the General Laws, requiring for the tak- ing of fur bearing animals. the use of traps that kill at

once or take such animals alive unharmed, be again opera- tive in this town."
And for the election of Town Meeting Members from the several voting Precincts of the Town as follows :
In Precinct 1. Fourteen Town Meeting Members (For three years), One Town Meeting Member (For two years to fill vacancy), Three Town Meeting Members (For one year to fill vacancies).
In Precinct 2. Fifteen Town Meeting Members (For three years).
In Precinct 3. Fourteen Town Meeting Members (For three years), One Town Meeting Member (For two years to fill vacancy), One Town Meeting Member (For one year to fill vacancy ).
In Precinct 4. Fourteen Town Meeting Members (For three years), Three Town Meeting Members (For two years to fill vacancy).
In Precinct 5. Fifteen Town Meeting Members (For three years).
The polls will be closed at eight o'clock in the evening.
And in the name of said Commonwealth you are further required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town qualified by law to vote in Town Affairs, to meet in Town Hall, on the tenth day of March, A. D. 1937, at eight o'clock in the evening, then and there to act upon the following articles namely :
Article 1. To hear and act upon the reports of all Town Officers and Committees of said Town.
Article 2. To raise and appropriate such sum or sums of money as may be necessary to defray Town expenses for the financial year beginning January 1, 1937.
Article 3. To determine when all taxes for the year 1937 shall become due and payable, the time from which interest on unpaid taxes of said year shall be charged and the com- pensation of the Collector of Taxes for the year ensuing.
Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to bor- row money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1938, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to re- new such note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year, in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, of the General Laws.
Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to authorize

the Selectmen to take charge of all legal proceedings for or against the Town.
Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the dog tax Fourteen hundred forty-seven Dollars and Eighty cents ($1447.80) for Town Library.
Article 7. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) to be paid to the Trustees of County Aid to Agriculture in accordance with the provisions of, and for the purposes of Chapter 128, General Laws, or for the support of demonstration work in Agriculture, Home Economics, or Boys' and Girls' Club Work, under the direction of an agent, or instructors, or the Trustees Co-operating with the Local Town Director, or pass any vote or votes in relation thereto.
Article 8. To see if the Town will vote to choose a Director in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 128, General Laws, or pass any vote or votes in relation thereto.
Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Twenty-five thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) for the purchase of tools and machinery, and for trucking and team hire, and for investigation, and maintenance expenses that may be incurred in connection with W. P. A. or other Governmental projects, or projects that the Town may undertake to do with Welfare Labor, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 10. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Seven hundred eighty Dollars ($780.00) for the purpose of paying for Clerk Hire in the Town Clerk's Department, to be effective as of January 1, 1937, the beginnng of the fiscal year, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for the improvement of Purchase Street, said money to be used in conjunction with any money which may be allotted by the State or County, or both, for this purpose, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of printing a list of Personal and Real Estates Taxed in the Town or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of paying land damages caused by the reconstruction of Purchase Street,

or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 14. To see if the Town will raise and appro- priate the sum of One hundred dollars ($100.00) for the use of the Zoning Board to be appointed by the Selectmen under Acts of 1933, Chapter 269; or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 15. To see if the Town will raise and appropri- ate the sum of Five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) for the construction of new sidewalks throughout the Town, of concrete construction with granite curbing, under the super- vision of the Highway Surveyor, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 16. To see if the Town will appropriate from available funds under the Excess and Deficiency Account the sum of Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) for use by the Board of Assessors in fixing the tax rate for 1937, or take any action in relation to the same.
Aritcle 17. To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to appoint a committee of five citizens to be known as Cedar Swamp Pond Development Commission, to have general charge and supervision of the properties owned by the Town at Cedar Swamp Pond, for the purpose of investigating any beneficial use that might be made thereof, and to make such recommendation therefor as said Com- mission may deem advisable on or before July 1, 1937, or take any action in relation to the same.
Article 18. To see if the Town will raise and appropri- ate the sum of Twenty-five hundred dollars ($2500.00) for the maintenance and care of Godfrey Brook and its branches, that portion of Charles River located on or adja- cent to the Town property north of Central Street, the Town property located off Hayward Street and Cedar Street, and of any other Town improvements constructed as C. W. A., E. R. A. or W. P. A. projects, the same to be under the supervision of the Highway Surveyor, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 19. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of Five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) from available funds to the P. W. A. Project (No. Mass. 1023) account for the construction of an Imhoff-Trickler at the Sewage Treatment Works, the same having been forfeited to the Town as liquidated damages in the case of A. Daddorio vs Town of Milford, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 20. To see if the Town will raise and appropri-

ate the sum of Five hundred dollars ($500.00) to continue the program of installing street signs throughout the Town, of similar design as those to be placed at Main Street inter- sections by courtesy of the Lions Club, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 21. To see if the Town will accept the provis- ions of G. L. (Ter. Ed) Chap. 48, Sec. 42, relative to the establishment of the Fire Department under the control of an officer to be known as Chief of the Fire Department.
Article 22. ' To see if the Town will vote to establish a road machinery fund to which shall be credited all receipts received for the use or rental of road machinery, the pro- ceeds to be appropriated as voted by the Town for road machinery purposes or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 23. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money to establish a road machinery account for the purpose of repairing and operating road machinery, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 24. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the purpose of repairing High- land Street in said Town of Milford, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 25. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Eleven hundred dollars ($1100.00) for the purpose of grading and constructing a cement side- walk on the easterly side of North Street or take any action in relation thereto.
Aritcle 26. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) to repair and macadamize Columbus Avenue from Cedar Street to Meade Street, road products to consist of trap rock and tarvia, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 27. To see if the Town will appropriate from available funds the sum of Five Hundred Seventeen dollars ($517.00) for use by the Board of Health, or take any action in relation to the same.
Article 28. To see if the Town will appropriate from available funds the sum of Five Hundred fifty-nine and 95- 100ths dollars ($559.95) for use by the Board of Health Dental Clinic, or take any action in relation to the same.
Article 29. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of One hundred four dollars and eighteen cents ($104.18) for 1936 unpaid bills of the Board

of Health Department.
Article 30. To see if the Town will accept an Act of the General Court of 1937, entitled "An Act authorizing the Appointment to the Permanent Force of the Fire Depart- ment of the Town of Milford of Certain Call Men in said Department," or take any action relative thereto.
Article 31. To see if the Town will authorize the Select- men to sell certain real estate owned by the Town off South Bow Street near the location of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad and to execute and deliver a proper deed therefor, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Article 32. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) to be expended under the direction of the Inspector of Wires, to defray the cost of installing Electric Lights for lighting Main Street during the Christmas and New Year Holiday Season, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 33. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) for the purpose of extending the Sewerage system in Congress Street from the Lally residence, Six hundred feet (600 feet) northerly to the residence of E. L. Mitchell, or take any action in relation thereto.
And you are hereby directed to serve this Warrant by publishing at least seven days before said meeting an at- tested copy of this Warrant in the Milford Daily News, a newspaper published and having a general circulation in the Town of Milford, and by posting at least seven days before said meetings, attested copies of this Warrant in five or more public places located in said Milford.
Hereof Fail Not, and make due return of this Warrant with your doings thereon to the Clerk of said Town, at the time of meetings aforesaid.
