AUDITING COMMITTEE'S REPORT.
Your committee find an improvement in the manner of render- ing bills against the Town.
But find that in consequence of the school year closing so much later than the financial year, the school committee's accounts are not closed so as to appear in the annual report, and show the amount expended and sum required for the ensuing year.
Therefore, they would recommend that the time of closing the financial year be extended to March 15, and that the annual meeting be held in April. Also that the school committee be in- structed to close the winter term of schools on or before March 15, and make up their report to be published with the annual report of the selectmen.

J. S. LORING, JOSIAH PETERSON, Auditing Committee.
