Report of Selectmen
To the Citizens of Duxbury :
Your board makes the following report for the year ending December 31, 1938.
Agreeable to the vote of the town all necessary town officers not chosen by ballot have been appointed by the Selectmen as printed in this report.
The following list of streets have been treated with tarvia all within the appropration made at the last annual meeting.
East Street from Summer to Lincoln, Lincoln Street from Mayflower to Congress, North Street from Myrtle Street to the Marshfield line. Keen Street from Temple Street to the Pembroke line.
Washington Street has been straightened by cutting the corner on the Wadsworth Estate near South Dux- bury.
It will be necessary to raise and appropriate at least $2,000.00 this coming year in order to supply clams for the commercial digging.
We are unable to obtain any more financial assistance from the Government.
We expect the State to furnish money from the 1939 appropriation to assist in dredging the Yacht Club Basin before the summer visitors arrive.
In closing we wish to thank the voters at this time in aiding us at the last annual meeting in keeping the appro-
-9-
priations at a reasonable figure. And we also ask your co-operation at the next meeting.
SIDNEY C. SOULE, HARRY F. SWIFT, CHARLES R. CROCKER,
Selectmen of Duxbury.
