REPORT OF SELECTMEN

To the Citizens of Duxbury :

Your board makes the following report for the year ending December 31, 1937.

This report will be very short as nearly everything other than routine business is reported by the various departments.

The buildings on the Abbott property have not been sold.

The house has been used through the summer for the police department and as a comfort station and show room through the Tercentenary celebration.

The stable was used for storing snow fence and road supplies.

Under the vote regarding sale of the property we felt that we could not give a permit to move it in the streets and destroy our trees.

We will ask the voters at the annual meeting to de- cide as to the disposition of same.

The Planning Board will make recommendations regarding landscaping the grounds of Abbott and Al- den property.

The Selectmen have petitioned the General Court for a sum of money for the enlarging and deepening of

8

the Yacht Club Basin.

We shall ask the town to appropriate a sum of money for the seeding of clams as we believe this is money well spent.

At this time we wish to extend thanks to the voters for their cooperation in keeping close to our recom- mendations regarding appropriations and a reasonable tax-rate.

SIDNEY C. SOULE HARRY F. SWIFT CHARLES R. CROCKER
