3. To obtain a full expression of opinion, voters should vote on all three of the following questions :-

(a) If a voter desires to permit the sale in this Town of any and all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on and off the premises where sold, he will vote "yes" on all three questions.

At Upper Town Hall, Chelmsford Centre TUESDAY EVENING, NOVEMBER 29, 1938


MIDDLESEX, SS.


To John J. Buchanan, a Constable of Chelmsford.


GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth as aforesaid, you are hereby re- quired to notify and warn the legal voters of said Chelmsford to meet in the Upper Town Hall at Chelmsford Centre on Tuesday, the Twenty- ninth day of November, 1938, at eight o'clock in the evening, then and there to act on the following articles, viz :


ARTICLE ONE. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Seven Hundred Dollars ($700), or some other sum, for aid to dependent children; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE TWO. To see if the Town will vote to raise and approriate the sum of Eleven Hundred Sixty-four Dollars ($1164), or some other sum, for the Welfare Department; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE THREE. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of Four Thousand Dollars ($4000), or some other sum, for Old Age Assistance; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE FOUR. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of Seven Hundred Seventy-five Dollars ($775), or some other sum, for the Infirmary; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE FIVE. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropri- ate the sum of Three Hundred Twenty-five Dollars ($325), or some other sum, for Soldiers' Relief; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE SIX. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Four Hundred Forty Dollars ($440), or some other sum, for the maintenance of public buildings; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE SEVEN. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of Two Hundred Seventy-five Dollars ($275), or

ARTICLE EIGHT. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro-


priate the sum of Four Hundred Twenty Dollars ($420), or some other sum, for the Police Department; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE NINE. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropri- ate the sum of Two Hundred Ten Dollars ($210), or some other sum, for the purpose of constructing a commissary store; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE TEN. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of Four Thousand Dollars ($4000), from the Overlay Reserve Fund to the Hurricane Emergency Account; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE ELEVEN. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300), or some other sum, for the purpose of defraying the cost of foreclosing tax titles ; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE TWELVE. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a certain sum of money for the purpose of settling a claim made against the Town by the City of Worcester; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE THIRTEEN. To see if the Town will vote to accept a deed conveying title to the Town of certain land located in the Town, owned by Roberta G. Sadler; or act in relation thereto. -


ARTICLE FOURTEEN. To see if the Town will vote to accept a deed from James P. Cassidy and others conveying title to the Town of certain land adjoining the Highland Avenue School in that part of Chelmsford called North Chelmsford; or act in relation thereto.


ARTICLE FIFTEEN. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a certain sum of money for the purpose of paying a num- ber of unpaid bills in the Health Department; or act in relation thereto.


AND YOU ARE DIRECTED to serve this Warrant by posting attested copies thereof at the Post Offices in the Centre of the Town, South Chelmsford, North Chelmsford and West Chelmsford, and at the School House, East Chelmsford and the Golden Cove School House, Westlands, seven days at least before the time appointed for holding the first meeting aforesaid.


HEREOF FAIL NOT, and make return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of holding this meeting aforesaid.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING NOVEMBER 29, 1938


At a special meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Chelms- ford, qualified to vote in Town affairs, held persuant to warrant duly posted, said meeting held in the upper Town Hall, Chelmsford Centre, on November 29, 1938. Moderator Walter Perham called the meeting to order, and the warrant was read by Town Clerk Harold C. Pet- terson.


The following business was transacted to wit :


Under Article One :


On a motion made by James A. Grant, it was voted to raise and appropriate the sum of seven hundred dollars for aid to dependent children.


Under article Two:


On a motion made by James A. Grant, it was voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Two Thousand, Four Hundred and Sixty-four Dollars ($2464), for the Welfare Department.


Under article Three:


On a motion made by James A. Grant, it was voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Four Thousand Dollars, ($4000), for Old Age Assistance.


Under article Four :


On a motion made by James A. Grant, it was voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Seven Hundred and Seventy-five Dollars ($775), for the Infirmary.

On a motion made by James P. Cassidy, it was voted to accept a deed from James P. Cassidy and others conveying title to land adjacent to and adjoining the Highland Avenue School in that part of Chelms- ford called North Chelmsford.


Under article Fifteen :


On a motion made by Raymond Greenwood, it was voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Six Hundred Dollars ($600) for the purpose of defraying Board of Health Aid.


On a motion made by Clarence Woodward, it was voted to adjourn this meeting at 9:25 P. M.
