SPECIAL TOWN MEETINGS
The following special town meetings were held for busi- ness covered by the articles enumerated :
MARCH 24, 1934
ARTICLE 1. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for selectmen's expense, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 2. To see if the town will vote to appropriate a sum of money from the Machinery Fund for the purchase of an oil burning torch, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 3. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to install an additional hydrant on Miles Road, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 4. To see if the town will vote to establish a salary for the local Civil Works Administrator, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 5. To see if the town will vote to establish a salary for the local Civil Works Disbursing Officer, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 6. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for local Civil Works Adminis- tration projects, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 7. To hear the report of the committee chosen to investigate plans for a new elementary school, or take any action thereon.

ARTICLE 3. To see if the town will vote to determine the compensation of the F.E.R.A. local administrator and raise and appropriate a sum of money for the same, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 4. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to compensate for time lost and medical services for any town employee injured while engaged in his work on town projects.
ARTICLE 5. To see if the town will vote to accept Chap- ter 41, Sec. 97 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts which provides for the establishment of a police department under the direction of the selectmen, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 6. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of equipment for the police, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 7. To hear the report of the Committee ap- pointed to investigate the cost of erecting a new building for six lower grades and looking up several proposed sites, and take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 8. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the erection and equipping a new building to be used for school purposes, or take any ac- tion thereon.
ARTICLE 9. To see if the town will vote to appropriate as a part of the cost of constructing a new six grade elemen- tary school building the unexpended balance available from the sale of the West Rutland schoolhouse, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 10. To see if the town will vote to authorize the Treasurer, under the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow a sum of money for the purpose of building and equipping a six room schoolhouse.
ARTICLE 11. To see if the town will vote to choose a building committee to have charge of erecting a building for school purposes and to give said committee any instructions or to take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 12. To see if the town will give any expres- sion as to the preference of any of the lots presented to the

meeting by the Committee, or to the several plans submitted by the committee and to take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 13. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of a lot of land for a site for a new schoolhouse, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 14. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to remodel the present town building to house the town offices, library, and upper six grades of the school, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 15. To see if the town will vote to authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow any sum of money necessary for the completion of the re- modeling of the present town building as voted under Article 14, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 16. To see if the town will vote to appropri- ate from the Excess and Deficiency Fund a sum of money to provide for the payment in advance of maturity of notes out- standing on the Bartlett Property Loan, or take any action thereon.
ARTICLE 17. To see if the town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to petition the General Court for the right to borrow outside of the town's debt limit for the purpose of building a new elementary school building and remodeling the present town hall, or take any action thereon.
