"Section 301. There shall be an Appropriation Commit- tee consisting of nine members appointed by the Moderator from the membership of the duly elected Town Meeting Mem- bers. Three members of the Committee shall be appointed each year within ten days after the town election to serve for three years and until their successors have been ap- pointed. Neither the Town Clerk, Town Treasurer, Chief of Police, Chief of Fire Department, Superintendent of Water Works, or any member of the Board of Selectmen, Assessors or School Committee shall be eligible to serve on said Commit- tee. No member of said Committee shall be eligible to serve more than three terms in succession. The Town Accountant and Town Counsel shall be ex-officio advisory members of said Committee."
Mr. Francis A. Gunn moved: That the subject matter of Arti- cles 26, 27, and 28, be referred to a Committee, consisting of Lyman C. Goodrich, John W. Field Newland H. Holmes, Daniel P. Sullivan and Cornelius J. Lynch for consideration.
Mr. Melville F. Cate moved : To add the words Superintendent of Schools after the words Superintendent of Water Works in Mr. Holbrook's amendment. No Action.

Article 29. Mr. Roland M. Smith for the Appropriation Com- mittee moved : That no action be taken under this article.
Mr. Frank A. Pray moved : That the Town raise and appropri- ate the sum of $1,296. for the installation and maintenance of a traffic light in Independence Square. Not a vote. The motion of the Appropriation Committee was so voted.
Article 30. Mr. Roland M. Smith for the Appropriation Com- mittee moved: That the subject matter of this article be refer- red to the Police Department with the recommendation that ."stop signs" be erected and paid out of the Appropriation for the Police Department.
Mr. Ronald A. MacDonald moved: That the town raise and ap- propriate the sum of $16. for the installation of a traffic light at the intersection of Ralph Talbot and Pine Streets. So Voted.
Article 31. Voted : : That the subject matter of this article be referred to the committee on Street Lighting.
Article 32. Mr. Roland M. Smith for the Appropriation Com- mittee moved : That no action be taken under this article.
Mr. Robert H. Buchan moved: That the Town raise and ap- propriate the sum of $7,500. for the purpose of adequately light- ing Bridge Street between the Fore River Bridge and Bicknell Square. Not a vote.

Article 33. Mr. Roland M. Smith moved : That no action be taken under this article.
Mr. Francis N. Drown moved: That the Selectmen be instruc- ted to contract with the Wessagussett Post No. 1599 of the Veter- ans of Foreign Wars of the United States for the care and main- tenance of certain cemeteries in the Town, namely: Old Cemetery off Park Avenue; Old Cemetery on Pleasant Street opposite Fair- mount Cemetery; Old Cemetery opposite Pine Street and one located off Randolph Street; and that the sum of $400 be raised and ap- propriated to be paid Wessagussett Post 1599 for the care of such Cemeteries during the current year. This motion was so voted.
Article 34. Voted : That the subject matter of this article be referred to the Tree Warden.
Article 35. Taken care of March 4, 1935.
Article 36. Voted : That the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $500 for the purpose of this article (Mosquito Control).

Pratt, said article reading as follows : "Article Five: I give and bequeath the sum of three thousand dollars ($3000.) to the Town of Weymouth, Massachusetts, to be held in trust, managed, invested and reinvested by the Selectmen for the time being of said Town, or such other per- sons as said Town at its annual meetings may from time to time elect as managers of said fund, the income and proceeds thereof to be used for the purchase of books for the Tufts Library in said Town." or take any other action in relation thereto.
Article 2. BY DIRECTION OF THE SELECTMEN AND THE COMMITTEE ON E.R.A. EXPENDITURES : To see what sum of money the Town will vote to transfer from the sum remaining unexpended under Article 35 of the Annual Town Warrant of March 1935 for the purposes of continuing the Federal and State Relief projects and providing for compensation for services performed or to be performed in reference to such activities; and providing that the sum remain- ing under this article may be expended for any of the purposes of the Federal Relief Administration under the direction of the Board as originally constituted or take any other action in rela- tion thereto.
Article 3. BY DIRECTION OF THE SELECTMEN AND PETITION OF THE PLANNING BOARD: To see if the Town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate, or transfer from money already appropri- ated, a sum of money for the purpose of financing the construc- tion of a Police Station and authorize and direct the Selectmen to accept on behalf of the Town, for use in carrying out such project, a Federal grant of money pursuant to the Emergency Relief Appropriation Act of 1935; and authorize the Board of Selectmen to construct said project and contract with respect thereto; and authorize the treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow such sums as may be necessary to meet any appropriation made; or take any action relative thereto.
Article 4. ON PETITION OF THE PLANNING BOARD: To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise or borrow and appropri- ate for the installation of an adequate drainage system in Washington Square, or take any action thereto.
Article 5. ON PETITION OF THE PARK COMMISSIONERS AND OTHERS: To see what sum of money the Town will raise or borrow and appro- priate for the purchase of Tirrell Property, land bounded on the northeasterly side by Union Street and on the southeasterly side by Central Street and on the sides by private abutters, containing in all about 281,100 square feet, as said area appears on a plan of the Town of Weymouth by Russell H. Whiting, Town Engineer, sheets 45, 46, 49 and 50 as revised to April 1, 1934, for devel- opment as a public playground under the supervision of the Board of Park Commissioners, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Article 6. ON PETITION OF THE WATER COMMISSIONERS: To see what sum of money the Town will authorize to be transferred from the general fund of the Water Department to be expended under the direction of the Water Commissioners for the purpose of continu- ing the erection of the filtration plant so called or take any other action in relation thereto.
Article 7. . BY DIRECTION OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN : To see

what sum of money the Town will vote to raise or borrow and ap- propriate or transfer from moneys already appropriated, for the purposes of continuing the Public Welfare Relief agencies includ- ing a sufficient sum to carry on its Old Age Assistance activities or take any other action in relation thereto.
Article 8. ON PETITION OF THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE : To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise or borrow and ap- propriate for the installation of an oil heating system in the High School or take any other action in relation thereto.
Article 9. ON PETITION OF THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE : To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate for transfer to the School Department to offset the cost of rental of school property or take any other action in relation thereto.
Article 10. ON PETITION : To see what sums of money the Town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate for the rein- statement of any teacher or courses already suspended or to be suspended by the School Committee or take any other action in relation thereto.
Article 11. BY DIRECTION OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN: To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise or borrow and appro- priate for the payment of unpaid bills, or take any other action in relation thereto.
You are directed to serve this warrant by posting a copy thereof, attested by you in writing, in each of two public places in each voting precinct in said Town, seven days at least before the time for holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not, make due return of this warrant with your doings, to the Town Clerk of said Town on or before the fourteenth day of October, 1935.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING October 22, 1935
Pursuant to the within warrant a special meeting of the in- habitants of the Town of Weymouth represented by its duly elected and qualified Town Meeting Members, was held at the hall of the Weymouth High School, East Weymouth, Tuesday evening, 1935, 219 Town Meeting Members' names being checked by police stationed at the doors for that purpose.
The meeting was called to order at 7:50 o'clock by Daniel L. O'Donnell, Annual Moderator, who requested the town clerk to read the warrant. After reading the call for the meeting it was voted: That the reading of the articles in the warrant be omitted; the Town Clerk then read the last three paragraphs of the warrant and the attestation of the constable who served the warrant.
