ARTICLE 52. (By Petition). To see if the Town will vote the office of a purchasing agent for the Town of Weymouth.

Lagrotteria, Town Engineer, dated August 11, 1960, entitled "Plan of Land in South Weymouth", in accordance with the vote of the church at a special meeting held on October 30, 1960 (Union Congregational So- ciety); and appropriate a sum of money to round off the corner and install curbing and sidewalk on Fogg Road the length of the church property, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 58. (By Petition). To see if the Town will vote to abandon a town right of way between Pilgrim and Squanto Roads and bordered by lots 12-13 in Block 30 and Lots 1-24 in Block 31 on Sheet 4 of the Town of Weymouth Atlas and to authorize the Board of Select- men to sell such land to the abutters or take any other action in relation thereto.

TOWN OF WEYMOUTH ANNUAL TOWN MEETING MARCH 6, 1961
Pursuant to a Warrant duly issued, the Annual Town Meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Weymouth, represented by their duly elected and qualified Town Meeting Members, was held in the audi- torium of the Weymouth High School on Monday, March 6, 1961.
The Meeting was called to order at 7:45 o'clock in the evening by the Annual Moderator, Mr Daniel L. O'Donnell.
The Town Clerk, Mr. Harry Christensen, read the Call of the Meeting.
There were 206 Town Meeting Members present.

Prayer for Divine Guidance at this Annual Town Meeting was offered by the Rev. James Mahoney, Assistant Pastor of Sacred Heart R. C. Church, Weymouth Landing.

MOVED by the Appropriation Committee:
That the Personnel By-Law and Compensation Plan as rewritten and as submitted subject to the following deletions, corrections and additions, be adopted and that the present members of the Personnel Board be continued until their successors are appointed by the Town Moderator; that there be added to Section 4 of page 2 the following sentence, "Each appointment shall be for a three year period succeeding to the expiration terms of the present members,"; on page 3, line 6, that the words "under their jurisdiction" be deleted; on page 3, Section 6, that the last sentence in that Section be deleted; on page 5, Section 8, that the word "yearly" be deleted from the second sentence; on page 5, paragraph 2, Section 8C, add the word "general" to the first sentence so as to read "Public Works General Foreman"; on page 7 that the word "paid" be added to the third sentence after the word "each" so as to read "vacations shall be allowed for each paid holiday" and so forth.
MOVED the following substitute motion by Mr. Lane:
That the Town vote to amend Article 4, Section 409, of the By- Laws by accepting the new salary and wage classification and pay plan as shown under Classification and Compensation Plan 1961, but that further changes in Section 409 of the Town By-Laws covering rules, interpretation, application and administration of the Classifi- cation and Compensation Plan be referred back to the Personnel Board for further study and review with the Town By-Laws Committee and a Committee of three Department Heads appointed by the Moderator.
Discussion ensued involving Mr. Lane, Mr. Kelley of the Personnel Board, Mr. Fryer of the Board of Selectmen, and Town Counsel Gaughen.

The salaries of the Assessors are hereby fixed at $2,000.00 for the Chairman and $1,650.00 each for four (4) other members. Not exceeding $4,854.20 shall be for the services of the Executive Secretary, who may be a member of the Board. $5,300.00 of said sums appropriated from the Excess and Deficiency Account for the purchase of new equipment.
