Report of the Selectmen and Board of Public Welfare

To the Citizens of the Town of Mattapoisett:

In accordance with Section 49, Chapter 40 of the General Laws, your Board of Selectmen herewith sub- mit the following reports of the various departments and officers to this Board.

On March 11, 1952, the Board organized as fol- lows: Lester A. Crampton, Chairman, Board of Select- men and Public Welfare; George S. White, Clerk.

The list of Jurors by Chapter 234, Section 4 of the General Laws is shown on other pages.

We also submit a report of a State Audit of Ac- counts of the Town of Mattapoisett for the period from October 28, 1951 to December 13, 1952 made in ' accordance with the provisions of Chapter 44 General Laws.

On March 10, 1952, the Town of Mattapoisett, through your Board of Selectmen, obtained title to Ned's Point Light Reservation property. We would call the attention of the citizens to Article 37 of the Warrant of the Annual Town Meeting which calls for the beginning of the beautifications of the Veter- ans of Mattapoisett Memorial Park on this beach prop- erty.

The Board of Selectmen would like to thank one and all for the splendid gift to the Town of the Am- bulance. It has been extremely difficult to measure in monetary value the benefits which many have received from this gift.

11

The School Building Committee voted on Novem- ber 7, 1952 to turn over to the School Committee the control of the new School Addition at the first con- venient date. It was formally accepted by that com- mittee of November 17, 1952 thus fulfilling a need which had been apparent for many years.

It is fitting and a pleasure to extend to one and all the Board's thanks and appreciation for the val- uable and cooperative help in our efforts to adminis- ter the Town's Affairs for the interest of all. The growth of our Town has been tremendous during the past year and along with this growth, the Board of Selectmen has seen our community spirit match this in every degree.

LESTER A. CRAMPTON, MANUEL C. LINHARES. GEORGE S. WHITE,

Board of Selectmen
