ANNUAL REPORT
OF THE
Town Accountant
OF THE
Town of Plymouth MASSACHUSETTS
1626
MOJ

FOR THE YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31
1960
-110-
FORTY-NINTH ANNUAL REPORT OF THE TOWN ACCOUNTANT For the year ending December 31, 1960
To the Board of Selectmen Town of Plymouth
Gentlemen:
I submit herewith report of the financial transac- tions of the Town of Plymouth for the year ending De- cember 31, 1960.
The cash balance at the close of the year was $956,674.56, only $1,305.94 of this amount representing unexpended bond issue balances.
The Excess and Deficiency Account of $778,567.57 and the Free Cash of $555,724.45 are slightly lower than last year. However, except for the appropriation of $36,151.47 from E. & D. in November, these accounts would have remained at about the 1959 level.
Estimated Receipts showed an excess of $170,955.12, due in most part to the increased returns from the Com- monwealth of income tax and corporation taxes, although motor vehicle excise and water revenue also showed some increases.
An authorized overdraft of $9,555.13 for Snow and Ice Removal was cleared from the accounts by a transfer from the Reserve Account at the end of the year.
