Voted: unanimously (152 members being present)
That the Board of Selectmen be, and hereby is author- ized and empowered in the name and on behalf of the Town to sell and convey at public auction or private sale the parcel of land situated on Summer Street and particularly describ- ed in Article 7 of the warrant, or the Town's interests there- in, and upon such terms and conditions as the Selectmen may consider proper.
And the Moderator declared the motion carried by more than two-thirds vote required by law, and the Article dis- posed of.
Article 8 taken up. (Appointment of Committee-Vot- ing Machines)
The Finance Committee recommended :
That no action be taken under Article 8 of the Warrant.
Chairman Elliott offered the following substitute mo- tion :
That the Moderator appoint a Committee of five mem- bers, one of whom shall be the Town Clerk, to investigate, consider and make recommendations as to the advisability of installing voting machines in any or all of the precincts of the Town; said Committee to report not later than the 1947 Annual Town Meeting.

Gentlemen:
We beg to submit our report for 1945:
On January 1st the Board appointed Assistant Regis- trars to take a census of all persons in the town twenty years of age and over. The List was duly prepared and printed according to law.
In February the Board held five afternoon and evening sessions for registering voters prior to the Town Election, at which time 63 persons qualified to appear on the Voting List.
Below is a list showing a total of 22,637 registered voters in the fourteen precincts, as of February 21, 1945.
