REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE TEWKSBURY PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Trustees of the Public Library submit the following report for the year ending December 31, 1924:

Details of expenditures in and for the Public Library will be found in the Auditor's report.

A statement in regard to the condition of the Library, the num- ber of books in use and in storage, also the circulation of books dur- ing the year, will be found in the report of the Librarian.

Monthly meetings have been held by the board except in the months of July and August.

During the year 445 new books have been added, of which num- ber 143 were children's books. When expedient these books have been censored by members of the board as in other recent years, be- fore being placed upon the shelves.

By vote of the trustees, lists of new acquisitions have been issued for the convenience of users of the Library, and the expenditure would seem to be well worth while.

We would once more call attention to the fact that the number of books and the readers thereof is constantly growing larger, while the room for their accommodation is inadequate and as constantly growing more so.

We request the Town to grant for Public Library use an appro- priation of $750.00 and the money received from dog taxes.

Respectfully submitted,

ALBERT C. BLAISDELL, Chairman

HARRIETTE G. LEE, Secretary

EDGAR SMITH KATE FOLSOM

GEORGE E. MARSHALL

HENRY B. MASON
