WARRANT FOR ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
Middlesex, ss.
To any of the Constables of the Town of Tewksbury, in said County: Greeting:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Tewksbury, qualified to vote in town affairs, to meet and assembly at Tewksbury Memorial High School in said Tewksbury on Saturday, March 5, 1960 at 10:00 o'clock A. M. to act on the following articles, except Article 1, and you are also hereby further required and directed to notify and warn the said inhabitants of the Town of Tewksbury, who are qualified to vote on elections and town affairs therein, to assembly subsequently and meet in town meeting at the polling places in said Town of Tewksbury, on Saturday, March 12, 1960 at 10:00 A. M. then and there to act on the following Article 1.
The polls for the election of Town Officers to be opened at 10:00 o'clock A. M. and to be closed at 8:00 P. M.
ART. 1-To choose all necessary Town Officers, to choose by ballot, one Selectman for three years, one member Board of Public Welfare for three years, one member Board of Health for three years, one Assessor for three years, one Town Clerk for three years, one Treasurer for three years, one Tax Collector for three years, one member School Committee for three years, one Park Commissioner for three years, one Road Commissioner for three years, one Tree Warden for three years, one Trust Fund Commissioner for three years, two Trustees for Public Library for three years, one Water Commissioner for three years; Moderator for one year, one Trustee for Public Library for one vear; one Planning Board Member for five vears, and to vote 'ves' or 'no' on the following questions: (1) "Shall the Town of Tewksbury accept the provisions of Section 16C of Chapter one hundred and forty-seven of the General Laws providing for a five-day week for members of the police forces in cities and towns?" (2) "Shall Chapter thirty-two B of the General Laws, authorizing any county, city, town or district to provide a plan of group life insurance, group accidental death and dismember- ment insurance, and group general or blanket hospital, surgical and medical insurance for certain persons in the service of such county, city, town or district and their dependents, be accepted by this town?" All on the same ballot.
ART. 2- To hear and act upon the reports of the various town officers.
ART. 3- To fix the salaries of the several elective officers of the Town and determine whether such salaries shall be retroactive to January 1st. (Refer to Salary Schedule).

ART. 4- To see what sums of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate from available funds, or otherwise, for its necessary and expedient purposes hereinafter designated, and determine that the same be expended only for such purposes under the direction of the respective officers, boards and com- mittees as folows: (Refer to budget).
ART. 5- To determine what sum the town will authorize and direct the Assessors to take from available funds to reduce the tax levy for the current year, or take any action relative thereto.
ART. 6 - To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate and/or transfer from Overlay Reserve for a reserve fund, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 40, Section 6.
ART. 7- To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1960, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in ac- cordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, of the General Laws.
ART. 8 - To see if the town will authorize the Selectmen to insti- tute suits on behalf of the town or defend any suits that are, or may be brought against the town, and to sign any contracts or agreements in behalf of the town.
ART. 9- To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen and the Treasurer to foreclose, either through the land court or by affidavit of the Commissioner of Corporations and Taxation, any tax title held by the Town for more than two years, and see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate therefor.
ART. 10- To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to sell, after first giving notice of the time and place of sale by posting such notice of sale in some convenient and public place in the Town at least fourteen days before the sale, property taken by the Town under tax title procedure, provided that the Selectmen or whomsoever they may authorize to hold such public auction may reject any bid which they deem inadequate, or take any action relative thereto.
ART. 11 - To see if the Town will vote the money arising from licensing dogs for the ensuing year to aid in support of the Public Library.
