(Note: Although GilbertCCope as shown above, gives the date of the death of Robert Dutton as 1725, the Nottingham MM minutes, vol 1, p 102, indicates that his death was in 1735; this is shown by an inquiry by a comm apptd to examine into the settlement of his estate, in 8th mo 1736, after his widow, Ann (Brown) Dutton & John Underhill, widower, had appeared & declared their intentions of marriage in 11mo (Jan) 1735/6; the Mtg chose to send the matter to the QM for decision & deferred matters until such decision was recd; the QM allowed the marriage as rptd 16- 8-1736; John White & Joseph England, who were apptd to inquire "into his clearness, & to see if the estate of her former husband be settled according to

GATRILL John
rptd 21-9-1730 by E Nottingham PM to have been "visiting families and preaching & praying with them in their homes, contrary to the sence thereof"; a comm was apptd to visit him which they did, but it did no good; he also disturbed assembled mtgs in same way; no remonstrances stopped him. Finally the mtg dis him, 18-7-1731, on his refusal to stop. On 20-10-1740, he sent a paper, signed, saying he now believed he had been mistaken & was sorry for it; this was acc & he was rst; he was recommended a minister in 1746; and was get Neward MM, PA, 20-10-1746 to m Mary Messer (name was doubtless Mercer, not Messer); he ret with his wife, Mary (who was rocf Newark MM, PA, 20-4-1747 by the Women's Mtg, p 119), & he resumed his disliked preaching, until he was finally forbidden to preach at all; he condemned his expressions, but it did little good, as "Friends do not own his ministry." But later on, both continued to interrupt the solemnity of the mtgs, & Mary refused to even permit Friends to visit her; she was finally dis 21-2-1756.
