rptd 21-2-1756 by E Nottingham PM as "hath been guilty of drinking strong liquor to excess & when spoken to absconded & left these parts without consent of his parents"; On 20-3-1756 he appeared at the mtg & gave in a paper of ack which was acc

s Roger & Elizabeth (Richards) of W Nottingham Twp, Chester Co, PA (Roger Kirk, Sr, father of the above Timothy, d 28-3-1761, bur E Nottingham) dt Elisha & Rachel of E Nottingham Twp, Chester Co, PA m 29- 8mo (Oct) 1741 at E Nottingham MH d 8- 1-1766

On 21-6-1742 it was rptd by our comm that they had visited Timothy & w Ann & had found the report true that they (the parties) had committed fornication before marriage, & had not so informed this Mtg; they (the parties) brought an ack on the 21st of 6mo-1742 admitting their guilt, which this mtg accepts "and appoints John White to read the said paper in a public meeting of E Nottingham & that the said Timothy & his wife be present at the reading standing and showing their assent thereto."

(son of Roger) & Lydia "Shepherd" were married the 13th of 3 mo, 1762 Note: The above is found at the top of the page used for deaths, opposite the left hand page which lists the ch of Timothy Kirk (son of "Long" Roger Kirk & w Jean Bowen-Kirk) by his two wives, the first wife being Lydia Barrett, dt of Arthur & Hannah (Brown) Barrett, whom he m 18-3-1762 (see Marriage Register, p. 135); his 2nd wife was Elizabeth Wilson, dt of Benjamin & Lydia (Job) Wilson. The name Lydia Sheppard must be a mistake; her last name is written in a different hand & different ink from the name Lydia, and it appears to have been written over an erased name by someone at a later date. I find no Timothy Kirk (son of Roger) of an age to have married in 1762, excepting the Timothy who m Lydia Barrett 18-3-1762. W.W.H.)
