School Report.

It seems hardly necessary to report at length upon the work of the schools, as the most important facts are given in the following pages.

We are glad to note the large increase over last year in num- ber visiting the schools aside from school board. We believe much better work is done by teacher and pupils when the parents take an active interest in their work.

It is an encouraging fact that every school house was used in the fall term and we hope there will be no further occa- sion to close any.

The district nurse, Miss Fletcher, visited each school once and gave a short talk on hygiene, which was appreciated by all . If she remains here she will no doubt be able to do more in this direction than she was able to in the fall, as her time then was limited.

We wish to thank Mrs. George Weed for her gift of a case of stuffed birds, which has been placed in the Center grammar school room.
