Emily Pemelia Russell 1819-1880 married first James Madison Wheel- er, second John H. Lapham. All are buried in Penn Yan, N. Y. Believe their families were from Columbia and Dutchess counties, N. Y. There may have been a brother Samuel Russell and sister Damaris Russell. Some members of the families mar- ried into Winchell and Newcob families and migrated to Yates and Schuyler counties. Any inforation of either Russell or Wheeler lines greatly desired.

SUTHERLAND, BRISCOE WEAVER
Since my query appeared in the February 6th issue, I have receiv- ed new data from a family source -- the Rufus Janvier Briscoe Bible.
John Janvier Briscoe (born July 6, 1805, Middletown, New Castle County, Delaware, died Feb., 1875, Detroit, Mich.) lived in Schoharie, N. Y. some time between 1828 and 1850.
He married first Sarah Ann Weav- er on April 24, 1828 in New Castle county, Del. They had three child- ren at least, Laura, James, Mary Cecelia and probably a fourth, Wil- liam E .. He married second Mary
Elizabeth Sutherland, presumably in New York State. She was born March 10, 1825 in Mitchiskill, N. Y., | and died July 4, 1885, in Bay City, Michigan. To the second marriage, two sons at least were born-Rufus Janvier Briscoe, in Schoharie, N. Y. July 3, 1846 and Benjamin Henry Briscoe.
I should like to have the date. and place of Sarah Ann (Weaver) Briscoe's birth and death and her ancetsry. Also the parentage and marriage date of Mary Elizabeth garet and a brother, Isa
Sutherland, who had a sister Mar- garet and a brother Isaac, living in Albany, N. Y., had two daugh- ters, at least, Helen and Anna, Also want dates and places of birth for any of the children of John Janvier Briscoe, by either wife. His name is listed in the 1850 City Directory of ... Detroit, Mich., but not in the prc- vious ones of 1846 or 1837. I can offer considerable Briscoe and Janvier data to anyone inter- ested.

Oneida county, N. Y., buried there, married 6 Jan. (by tradition at or near Western) Dr. Zenas Hutchin- son, born 21 Nov. 1770 at Lebanon, Conn., died 8 Sept. 1853 ath is son's home in New York city; buried in Western. They lived on or near Elmer Hill in Western. Page 198 History of Oneida county, by Ev- arts and Fariss, 1878 shows the brothers Drs. Zenas and Paul Hutch- inson, present with 27 other doctors 1 July 1806 at Rome, N. Y., when the Medical Society of the County of Oneida was organized. Dr. Zenas Hutchinson's name is reported sev- eral times in the Society's record before 1833. Dr. Zenas Hutchinson's second wife was a Mrs. Diana Beck- worth White of Western. There seems to have been no children by the second marriage. 2:1370 Council of Appointment, Military Records, State of New York, 1748-1821 shows that In 1812 Zenas Hutchinson was appointed surgeon's mate in the Sixth Regiment, third brigade of artiliery. 2:1450, ibid, shows the 1814 appointment of Zenas Hutchin- son as surgeon, 157th Regt. of In- fantry, vice White. 2:1823, ibid, shows the 1817 appointment of
George Brown as surgeon of the same regiment, vice Hutchinson, re- signed. Dr. Zenas Hutchinson ap- pears to have settled on Elmer Hill by 1797 or earlier, and, according to an address by Dr. M. M. Bagg be- fore the Onelda County Medical So- ciety appears to have made an en- viable record In his more than 40 years of medical practice in the frontier period around Western.
