Batte, R. L., Cameron; Capitalist. Owner of the Cameron Cotton Oil Company, Thorndale Oil Mill, Burlington Oil Mill and eighteen cotton gins in Milam County. In addition to his oil mill, cotton gins and other interests, he is an extensive land owner and farmer, having about 5000 acres under cultivation near Cameron. He is the owner of the "Riverside Farm" of 3100 acres and the "Green Lake Farm," on which he lives. Mr. Batte is also an extensive cattle, hog, horse and mule raiser; has a large herd of thoroughbred Hereford and Red Poll cattle.
