OCEANSIDE.


The Oceanside country .. promises much for the furture. As soon as water is developed to supply the country, rapid progress will be made. The enterprising citizens are earnestly at work with determination that water shall be developed in the near fu- ture. The town, located on high land overlooking the Pacific ocean, is surrounded by a vast territory of fertile country. It is a trading point for many neighboring sections, and is recognized as a pleasant seaside resort, 40 miles north from San Diego, on the Southern California railroad, at the junction of the Escondido and Fallbrook branches. It has a population of several hundred enterprising citizens; has good schools; good churches-Congre- gational, Methodist, Episcopal, Baptist and Holiness-hotel, and good business houses.

OTAY.


The town of Otay is located in the Otay valley and on the National City and Otay Railway, 12 miles south of San Diego. It joins Chula Vista on the south, and is rapidly developing into a lemon producing country. Good water is secured from wells in the Otay valley.
