BOOTH & CO., importers and wholesale grocers, 43, 45, 47, Front street. This is the oldest firm in the city ; first established in the Spring of 1850 under the style of " Forshee, Booth & Co.," composed of John Forshee, L. A. Booth and Job Dye. The two latter gentlemen retired in the Spring of 1851. About the same period Charles Smith and Newton Booth established business under the name of Smith & Booth. After the fire of '52 L. A. Booth became a member of the firm, which was then known as Booth & Co. Kleinhans & Co. estab- lished in 1852 ; Theodore P. and D. N. Kleinhans partners. The lat- ter firm united with the house of Booth & Co. in 1856, L. A. Booth, C. T. Wheeler and the Kleinhans' constituting the firm, under the name of Booth & Co. The Kleinhans retired and Newton Booth again entered the firm in 1860. L. A. Booth retired from the firm in 1862 and J. T. Glover became a member. The business relation of this firm extends not only through the northern and eastern coun- ties of the State but also through the entire State of Nevada.
