FIRST WARD .- That portion of the city of Des Moines included in the fol- lowing limite, to wit : commencing in the center of the Des Moines river, at ---- a point where said river grosses the south eastern line of the corporation, thence up the center of the channel of daid river to a point where the.con- tor of Vine street continued east would intersect the center of the channel of said river, thence westerly, along the center of Vine atroet to ita western terminus; thengo in a direct line to the center of Randolph street ; thence westerly along the center of Randolph street to the center of Raccoon Riv. ori thence up the channel of said river to a point where the same crosses the corporation line; thenop east along the southern boundary of said cor- poration to the place of beginning, be and the same is declared to consti- tute the first ward!
SECOND WARD. That all that portion of Des Moines included within the following limits, to-wit : commencing at a point where the center of Vino strpet, if extended east, would intersect the center of the channel of the Des Moines river: thence northerly along the center of the channel of said river to a point Where the center of Locust street, if continued east would intersect the same ; thence westerly along the center of Locust street to its iwestern terminus; thence westerly in the same direction as last aforesaid. to the center of the channel of the Raccoon river; thence down the center of the channel of said river to the north-west corner of ward number one ; thence following the northern boundary of ward number one to the place of beginning, be and the same is hereby declared to constitute the second ward.

That all that portion of Des Moines included within the following limits, to with commencing at the north-east corner of ward number three, running thenoe northerty along the center of the channel of the Des Moines river, to the northern boundary of the corporation; thence west along the said northern boundary of the north-west corner of the corpo- ration; thence south along the west line of the corporation to the north - west corner of ward number three; (thence east along the birth line of ward number three to the place of beginning, be and the dame is bor by doolated to constitute the fourth ward.
