"Single Thread" vs. "Double Thread."

At the " Grand Trial of Sewing Machines" at Island Park, the contest being between "Single Thread " and " Double Thread " Machines, and the latter claiming an "advantage " because of its using " two " threads in- stead of "one," the result was a unanimous "DECI- SION," of the "judges," after a " protracted and severe- ly contested trial," that "the advantage is NOT on the side of a 'DOUBLE-THREAD' but on that of a 'SINGLE- THREAD,' as used by the Willcox & Gibbs Machine."- See " Report of Grand Trial."
