In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid quali- fied to vote in Town affairs to meet in the hall of the Weymouth High School on


MONDAY, THE SIXTH DAY OF MARCH, 1950


at seven o'clock and thirty minutes in the evening, then and there to act on the following articles, namely:


ARTICLE 1. (At the Request of the Board of Water Commissioners) To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by borrowing or otherwise, and appropriate for the development of additional emergency well fields, including wells, pipes, pumping station, and new pumping station equipment, to be located on Lot 9, Block 376 as shown on Sheets 29 and 33 of the Weymouth Town Atlas as revised to January 1, 1949 by Russell H. Whiting, Town Engineer and including laying of 10 in. and 12 in. water mains to Washington Street and to Front Street all to be under the supervision of the Water Department, or take any other action in relation thereto.


You are directed to serve this Warrant by posting a true copy thereof, attested by you in writing, in each of two public places in each voting precinct in said town, seven days at least before the date of holding said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of the Warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk of said town on or before the twenty-fifth day of February,, 1950.

and to determine in each case how and under whose direction the money shall be expended, to impose any conditions and restrictions thereon which the Town may see fit; to determine how much money so appropriated shall be available for expenditures under General Laws (Ter. Ed.) Chapter 40, Section 5, Clause 34; to determine what, if any sum so appropriated shall remain available after December 31, 1950; to fix the term and rate of interest of any such bonds or notes; to fix such salaries as require to be fixed by the Town Meeting; and to impose such conditions upon the drawing of compensation from the Town as the Town may see fit; or take any other action in relation to any of the foregoing subjects.


COMMITTEE REPORTS


ARTICLE 2. (By Direction of Selectmen). To take any action the Town may desire upon the reports of the several Town Boards and Com- mittees and to appoint or change any Committee that the Town may think proper.


ARTICLE 3. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to authorize its Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen, on and after January 1, 1951, to borrow in anticipation of the revenue of the year 1951.


ARTICLE 4. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote from surplus for the use of the Assessors in determining the tax rate for the year 1950, or take any other action in relation thereto.


ARTICLE 5. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to sell or otherwise dispose of any real or personal property of which the Town may be possessed or seized and for which it has no further use, including all real estate of which the Town has possession or title for non-payment of taxes; and to see if the

Town will vote to authorize any other department to sell or otherwise dispose of any personal property in its possession and to determine the manner, or condition of such sales, or take any other action in relation thereto.


ARTICLE 6. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to authorize its Board of Selectmen to accept conveyances or mort- gages of any real or personal property belonging to persons receiving relief from the Town and to dispose of said property in the manner they may judge for the Town's best interest and to authorize them to discharge any encumbrances on said property if they consider it for the best interest of the Town so to do, and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the discharging of such encumbrances.

ARTICLE 7. (On Petition and by Direction of Selectmen). · To see if the Town will accept the several reports of the Selectmen laying out as Town ways the following designated private ways and parts of ways or any of them, to wit :-

or any portion of said ways and will authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift or purchase or take by right of eminent domain in fee or otherwise for all purposes of a public street and highway in and over each of said streets as laid out and accepted, and see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the working of each of the above named streets including the acquisition of the fee above referred to and for the building of any bridges, drains and conduits or securing easements which may be necessary in connection therewith and to see whether the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to accept deeds of any reservation strips existing in connection with any of said streets, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 8. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to reconstruct, resurface, widen or repair by the Street Department or under the provisions of General Laws (Ter. Ed.) Chapter 90 for maintaining, repairing and im- proving the following street or any portion thereof:


Broad Street from Madison to Middle and/or Union Street


or if deemed advisable by the Massachusetts Department of Public Works any other street in the Town, or take any other action in relation thereto.


ARTICLE 9. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to reconstruct, resurface, widen, straighten, relocate or work the following street, provided the State · or County, or both, will appropriate a proportionate sum of money to help defray the expenses of such work, to wit :-


West Street, or any portion of said way


and will authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift or purchase or take by right of eminent domain in fee or otherwise for all purposes of a public street and highway in and over said street, and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the work- ing of the above named street, including the acquisition of the fee above referred to and for the building of any bridges, drains and conduits or secur- ing easements which may be necessary in connection therewith, and to see whether the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to accept deeds of any reservation strips existing in connection with said street, or take any other action in relation thereto.


ARTICLE 10. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the reconstruction of a part of Essex Street, between Spring Street and Middle Street, or take any other action in relation thereto.


ARTICLE 11. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the widening of the street near 1325 Pleasant Street according to a Plan of Russell H. Whiting, Town Engineer, dated December 22, 1949, or take any other action in relation thereto.


ARTICLE 12. (On Petition of Eric A. Fallgren and Others). To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase or take by right of eminent domain for street purposes, the parcel of land hereinafter described, the same to be used for the widening and acceptance of that portion of Gilbert Road extending westerly from Middle Street for a distance of two hundred feet, more or less, to the present accepted portion of Gilbert Road, and to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor, or take any other action in relation thereto viz:


Parcel of land on the westerly side of Middle Street shown on a Plan of Land in Weymouth, Mass., by Russell H. Whiting, C. E., dated March 10, 1949 and duly recorded with the Norfolk Registry of Deeds, said parcel being bounded and described as follows:


EASTERLY: by Middle Street, twenty-six (26) feet;


NORTHERLY: by land now or formerly of Arthur W. Mills and Mary M. Mills, one hundred eighty-six and 9.100 (186.09) feet;

WESTERLY : by the remaining portion of Gilbert Road, twenty- six (26) feet; and


SOUTHERLY: by a private way known as Gilbert Road, one hun- dred eighty-six (186) feet more or less.


ARTICLE 13. (On Petition of W. E. Leary and Others). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate funds to widen and surface Summer Street, from a point at 338 to 55 inclusive, or take any other ac- tion in relation thereto.
