To recognize veterans who have completed one of the special courses, a Trade Certificate was awarded in June to the following:

Alton Borghesani Paul L. Carter

John F. Hammer, Jr. Henry H. Melanson

Warren B. Lewis

A Trade Certificate was also awarded to the following non-veteran who completed a special course in Printing:

Robert C. Capen

Of this year's entering class, 2 were admitted as special students with- out completing the eighth grade, 51 were promoted from the eighth, 21 were members of or had completed the ninth, 4 the tenth, and 1 the eleventh, and 2 were repeaters from last year.

Sixty-seven non-residents have been admitted. This is 10 less than last year and 2 more than the previous year. Income from tuition for the school year ending in June was $15,288.28. This money comes from twenty towns in the South Shore area.

Of the 43 seniors graduated, 31 entered the trades for which they were trained, 7 entered other fields, and 5 entered the armed forces.

The success of the past year has been due in a great part to the care- ful planning and guidance of Mr. Francis E. Whipple, as the school was running smoothly when I assumed my new position and there have been no major changes.
