ARTICLE 14. (On Petition of Charles S. Dobson and Others). ARTICLE 25. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the acquisition of a drainage easement through land of Frank T. Puopolo, formerly owned by Wallace F. and Mable F. Cowing, at or near 130 Chard Street, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 26. (By Petition of Edward Haviland and Others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for proper drainage for Kensington Road and for that particular area where street water drains into the property of John Haviland, Sr., 51 Kensington Road, or take ony other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 27. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to release an easement granted to it by David N. Crawford on June 21, 1927 for drainage purposes to Allan F. Crawford and Edith S. Craw- ford over and under land as shown as Lot 1, Block 524, Sheet 45, on Tower Avenue of the Atlas of the Town of Weymouth, 1949, in exchange for an easement to be granted to the Town from said Allan F. and Edith S. Craw- ford to serve the same purpose, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 28. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to accept an easement on its behalf for drainage purposes from Allan F. Crawford and Edith S. Craw- ford over and under Lot 1, Block 524, Sheet 45 on Tower Avenue of the Town Atlas in accordance with a plan of Russell H. Whiting, dated January 23, 1950 or take any other action in relation thereto.
GOVERNMENTAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES
ARTICLE 29. (At Request of Appropriation Committee). To see if the Town will vote to amend its By-Laws under the authority of Section 108A of Chapter 41 of the General Laws for the adoption of a new by-law for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations governing the classi- fication of personnel and the administration of a salary and wage-pay plan for all town employees, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 30. (At Request of Appropriation Committee). To see if the Town will amend its By-Laws and vote to adopt a new by-law re- quiring that all new employees, temporary or otherwise, be required to undergo a complete medical examination prior to entrance into the town's service, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 31. (At Request of Appropriation Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the expense of a complete survey of the administration and operation of all town departments, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 32. (On Petition of Everett E. Callahan and Others). To see if the Town will take all necessary steps to adopt a Town Manager form of government similar to that now in use in the Town of Norwood.
ARTICLE 33. (On Petition of Street Department Employees). To see if the Town will vote to establish for the Street Department a five day work week (40 hours) that salaries and wages be increased so that the same pay be received for 40 hours as for 441/2 hours, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 34. (On Petition of Everett E. Callahan and Others). To see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to establish a purchasing department and provide a sum of money sufficient for such purpose.

ARTICLE 37. (At Request of Town Counsel). To see if the Town will vote to change Section 404A of the Town By-Laws so as to read: "The salary of the Town Counsel shall cover all work performed by him except work for the School Department and examination of titles to real estate or actual appearances in court in the conduct of litigation or before ad- ministrative boards or other tribunals and except legal work done in connection with the laying out and establishing construction, and main- tenance of a sewerage system."
ARTICLE 38. (On Petition of George Puopolo and Others). To see if the Town will vote to have No. 575 Broad Street, East Weymouth, zoned for business instead of residential, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 39. (By Direction of Selecemen). To see if the Town will vote to amend Section 512 of the Town By-Laws to read as follows: "No person owning or controlling any property abutting upon two or more in- tersecting ways in the Town of Weymouth shall construct or maintain any fence or other structure other than a building or plant, grow or main- tain any hedge, trees, or other shrubbery of a height or more than three feet above the level of the adjoining way and within thirty-five feet of the nearest point of the intersection of such way, so that the same will ob- struct the open view of travellers on each abutting way within said dis- tance of thirty-five feet.
ARTICLE 40. (At Request of The Union Congregational Society of Weymouth and Others). To see if the Town will vote to change the Zon- ing By-Laws of Weymouth by extending the business district of South Weymouth to include the Parish House and Parsonage of the Union Con- gregational Society of Weymouth; this property beginning at the north- west corner of Columbian Street and Fogg Road runs northwesterly by Columbian Street about 330 feet; thence southwesterly by land of Dr. George Emerson about 300 feet; continuing southwesterly by land of South Shore Hospital about 25 feet; thence southerly by land now or formerly

of Jessie K. Newbert 175 feet, more or less; thence northeasterly by Fogg Road, 365 feet, to a point beginning, containing about 74,900 feet of land, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 41. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning Map of the Town of Weymouth by changing the following district from residence district to business - the district on the southerly side of Park Avenue West from Main Street to 32 Park Avenue West, or take any othr action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 42. (At Request of Building Inspector). To see if the Town will amend its Building By-Laws to add the following to Section 718 of the By-Laws:
Section 718; Roofing
The roof of every building hereinafter built or when twenty percent or more of the surface of any existing roof covering is renewed shall be covered with slate, tar or gravel or other incom- bustible material.
Before renewing the covering of roofs all old wooden shingles must be removed.
When it is desired to use wood shingles in a resident district they shall be vertical grain or edge grain wooden shingles. Five shingles measuring two inches at the butts shall be in accordance with American Lumber Standards established in simplified prac- tice Recommendations R-16-29 of the U. S. Department of Com- merce. Such shingles shall be firmly nailed to roof deck with rust resistive nails.
ARTICLE 43. (On Petition of Mario V. Cicchese and Others). To see if the Town will vote to change the following district from residential to business.
The land with the buildings thereon, situated in Weymouth, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, and bounded and described as follows:
Northerly by Broad Street about one hundred and ten feet;
Easterly by land now or formerly of Ethel M. Clark, seven hundred and twenty feet;
Southwesterly by land of Davis Bates Clapp Memorial Association about one hundred eighty feet;
Westerly by land of said Davis Bates Clapp Memorial Association about two hundred and ten feet;
Southwesterly again by said land of Davis Bates Clapp Memorial Association about three hundred and four feet;
Westerly again by said land of Davis Bates Clapp Memorial Association about one hundred and forty feet;
Northerly again by land of Laura M. B. Brigham and Alton S. Blan- chard, about one hundred and twenty-four feet;
Westerly again by land of said Alton S. Blanchard, about eight feet; Northerly again by land of George C. Newbury et ux, about eighty feet; Westerly again by land of said George C. Newbury et ux, about eighty- three feet;
Northerly again by land of Felix Caraccialo et ux, about sixty-six feet; Easterly again by land of Wessagusset Post No. 1399 V.F.W. Building Association about thirty feet;
Northerly again by said land of Wessagusett Post No. 1399 V.F.W. Building Association, about forty-eight feet;

ARTICLE 44. (On Petition of Joseph Melanson and Others). 'To see if the Town will vote to amend its Zoning By-Laws and change the following district from residential to a limited business district described as follows:
"The land in that section of Weymouth commonly known as Idlewell, lying westerly of Narragansett Avenue, from No. 54 to No. 72 inclusive, Lots 13, 14, 15, and 16 as described on assessors Map, to a depth of 121 feet on the southern boundary, 101 feet on the northern boundary of said Narragansett Avenue, or take any other action in relation thereto:"
ARTICLE 45. (At Request of Board of Health). To see if the Town will vote to accept the Law Relating to Unfit Dwellings and Minimum Standards of Fitness for dwellings in accordance with the provisions of Section 128, Chapter 111, of the General Laws as amended by Chapter 468 of the acts of 1943 and Chapter 631 of the, acts of 1947.
ARTICLE 46. (On Petition of Chamber of Commerce). To see what action the Town will take to amend the Zoning Map by adding to Section 111A (Limited Business Districts) of the Zoning By-Law the following paragraph:
"That area bordered by Washington Street, Winter Street and Main Street, being Blocks 329 and 375 as shown on sheets 25, 29, and 33 of the 1949 Town Atlas".
SCHOOLS
ARTICLE 47. (At Request of School Building Committee .) To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise, and appropriate for the purpose of constructing a Junior High School on the site acquired at the corner of Park Avenue and Pleasant Street, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 48. (At Request of School Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise, and appropriate, for the purpose of purchasing a strip of land approximately 388 feet long and 8.5 feet wide, abutting the Abigail Adams School property (Lot 11, Block 157, Sheet 13, of the Atlas for the Town of Weymouth for the year 1949) from the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Com- pany for the purpose of enlarging the Abigail Adams School property, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 49. (At Request of School Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise, and ap- propriate for the purpose of acquiring by gift, purchase, or eminent domain in fee part of Lot 13, Block 157, Sheet 13 of the Atlas of the Town of Weymouth for the year 1949 abutting the present Abigail Adams School grounds, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 50. (At Request of School Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise, and ap- propriate for the purpose of acquiring by gift, purchase, or eminent domain in fee Lots 16, 17 and parts of Lots 15 and 20 in Block 100, Sheets

7 and 10, as appears in the Atlas of the Town of Weymouth for the year 1949, containing about 322,500 square feet, located north and east of Pearl Street, as the site for an elementary school; and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to take said properties by eminent domain for such pur- poses, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 51. (At Request of School Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise, and ap- propriate, for the purpose of preparing complete plans, working drawings and detailed specifications, in order that bids for construction of an elementary school may be secured; said school to be erected on or near Pearl Street in Precinct One, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 52. (At Request of School Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise, and ap- propriate, for the purpose of acquiring by gift, purchase, or eminent domain, in fee part of Lot 6, Lots 9-36 inclusive, Austin Road, so-called Gideon Road so-called, Short Street so-called, Kenton Street so-called, and Dexter Road so-called, all in their entirety, Block 422, Sheet 33, as appears in the Atlas for the Town of Weymouth for the year 1949, ap- proximately 374,400 square feet, as the site for the erection of an elemen- tary school, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 53. (At Request of School Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise, and ap- propriate, for the purpose of acquiring by gift, purchase or eminent domain in fee part of Lot 1, Block 288 and part of Lot 1, Block 290, Sheet 21, as appears in the Atlas of the Town of Weymouth for the year 1949, ap- proximately 1,040,000 square feet, located near the junction of Broad and Essex Streets, as the future site of a Central Junior High School, or take any other action in relation thereto.
PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS
ARTICLE 54. (At Request of East Weymouth Playground Committee and Others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the acquiring by purchase or take by right of eminent domain in fee for park purposes certain lands or parts of lands shown on the Town Atlas, 1949, Block 253, as shown on Plan of Russell H. Whiting, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 55. (At Request of East Weymouth Playground Committee and Others.) To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the construction of a playground in East Weymouth in an area known as the Meadows bounded by Station Street on the North Commercial Street on the East, South and West, all in accordance with a plan of Russell H. Whiting, Town Engineer, or take any action in re- lation thereto.
ARTICLE 56. (On Petition of George E. Lane and Others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of building a swimming and wading pool at Weston Park or other parks in the Town, or taking any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 57. (On Petition of George E. Lane and Others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of improving the Weymouth High School Athletic facilities at Legion Field and for the Annie Libby Memorial Field, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 58. (At Request of Mosquito Plain Civic and Social Asso- ciation). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate for the purpose of acquiring for park purposes land on the northerly side of Oak Street, South Weymouth, owned by Warren Fogg and Sarah E. Brassill; Warren Fogg's property shown on Town Atlas, Sheet 43, Lot 1, Block 477 in the rear of land owned by Ralph W. Langell and new owner Frank J. Homeyer; Brassill's land shown in Block 477, Lot 4, from Number 28 to 32 Century Road, or take any other action in re- lation thereto.
ARTICLE 59. (On Petition of Otto Mason and Others). To see if the Town will vote to transfer by authority of Chapter 360 of the Acts and Resolves of Massachusetts of 1949, from the control and supervision of the Water Commissioners to that of the Park Commissioners the fol- lowing described land :- an area west of the Pond School two hundred and fifty feet in depth west of the school department property line by four hundred feet south along said boundary line from point one hundred feet south of the Austin property southwest boundary stake to the Shaw property northwest stone monument and thence one hundred feet south along the Shaw property west boundary, or take any other action in re- lation thereto.
ARTICLE 60. (On Petition of Otto Mason and Others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the pur- pose of developing and equipping of a playground to the west of the Pond School on the land described in the preceding article, (59), or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 61. (At Request of Park Commissioners). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for filling in and grading the newly acquired area in Weston Park, Weymouth Landing. The area to be resurfaced is approximately 60,000 square feet of land shown in Town Atlas, Sheet 20, Block 277, Lot 12, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 62. (At Request of Park Commissioners). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for fill and loam to resurface the left field section of Bradford Hawes Park; the area to be graded is approximately 60,300 square feet, shown on Sheet 34, Block 444, Lot 3, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 63. (At Request of Park Commissioners). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purchase of land owned by James Cullinane of 90 Central Street, South Weymouth, containing approximately 19,000 square feet, more or less, shown in Town Atlas, Sheet 50, Block 527, Lot 16 for park purposes, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 64. (At Request of Chamber of Commerce). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to clean up and restore Wessagusset Beach and Great Hill Park and the buildings thereon, to provide adequate bathing and boating facilities and to provide adequate patrolling and care of properties, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 65. (At Request of Chamber of Commerce). To see what action the Town will take in deeding the property known as Wessaguesset Beach and Great Hill Park as shown on the Plan of Great Hill and Wessa-

gusset Beach by William B. Harty, Engineer, dated August 12, 1949, to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the Metropolitan District Com- mission to provide suitable bathing, boating and recreational facilities, or take any other action in relation thereto.
WATER DEPARTMENT
ARTICLE 66. (At Request of Water Commissioners). To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Water Commissioners to acquire by gift, purchase or take by right of eminent domain in fee or otherwise for the purpose of protecting the purity of the public water supply, two parcels of land on or near Randolph Street in South Weymouth designated as Lots 3 and 4, Block 545, on Town Atlas, Sheet 52 revised to January 1, 1949, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 67. (At Request of Water Commissioners). To see if the Town will vote to instruct its Board of Selectmen to transfer the custody of the Board of Water Commissioners for water works purposes, a certain parcel of land owned by the Town and designated as Lot 9, Block 376, on Plan 33 of the Town Atlas by Russell H. Whiting, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 68. (At Request of Water Commissioners). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by borrowing or otherwise, and appropriate for the purchase and installation of additional Pumping and Filtration Plant at South Weymouth, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 69. (At Request of Water Commissioners). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to provide water mains and fire hydrant protection on streets accepted as public highways, or take any other action in relation thereto.
VETERANS
ARTICLE 70. (On Petition of Edward Swain and Others). To see if the Town will vote to name and dedicate the intersection of Com- mercial and North Streets in honor of Sergeant Chester A. Rober, Jr., late of No. 1 Richards Road, Weymouth Heights, who was killed in action while serving with the Armed Forces of the United States and that a sum of money be raised and appropriated for the purpose of a suitable marker, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 71. (On Petition of Erwin Davis Post). To see if the Town will vote to dedicate plot of land at junction of Front, Stetson and Hunt Streets in honor of the late Sergeant Walter Carlisle Roberts, World War II veteran, who lost his life in conflict; and that a sum of money be raised and appropriated for the erection of a suitable marker, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 72. (At Request of American Legion Post, No. 79). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of providing suitable quarters for the Weymouth Post No. 79, American Legion, Inc., Department of Massachusetts, or take any other action in relation thereto; and to see what sum of money the Town will raise and appropriate for providing suitable headquarters for any or all organizations of Veterans in the Town entitled to the benefits under Chapter 40 of the General Laws, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 73. (At Request of Weymouth Veterans Council). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of $350.00 for the observance of Armistice Day in 1950.
