RECORD OF TOWN MEETINGS
ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
Monday, January 21, 1929, and adjournment to Monday, February 25, 1929.
On a warrant duly issued by the Selectmen, under date of January 8, 1929, and signed by Thomas B. Mulvehill, Edmund G. Dalton, Harold W. Baker, Arthur J. Forrest and Herbert H. Miller, Selectmen of Norwood, the proper service of which Warrant was duly attested by Thomas C. Lydon, Constable of Norwood.
All of the requirements of the Statutes and By-Laws relating to elections and Town Meetings having been complied with, the meeting was called to order, the articles contained in the Warrant and the action thereunder being as follows:
Article 1. To choose all necessary Town Officers. The following are to be chosen by ballot; namely, two Selectmen for three years; one Town Treasurer and Collector of Taxes for one year; one Finance Commissioner for three years; one Moderator for one year; one member of the Board of Health for three years; two members of the School Committee for three years; two trustees of Morrill Memorial Library for three years; two members of the Planning Board for three years; one member of the Plann- ing Board to fill vacancy for two years; six Constables for one year. And to bring in their vote on the following question: That the Town accept the act entitled "An act to permit certain sports and games on the Lord's day" approved at the State election held on November 6, 1928, which provides that it shall be lawful in any town which accepts the act to take part in or witness any athletic outdoor sport or game, except horse racing, automo- bile racing, boxing or hunting with firearms, on the Lord's day between 2 and 6 P. M .; that such sports or games shall take place on such play-

grounds, parks or other places as may be designated in a license issued by the licensing authorities named in the act; that no sport or game shall be permitted in a place, other than a public playground or park, within one thousand feet of any regular place of worship; that the charging of admission fees or the taking of collections or the receiving of remuneration by any person in charge of or participating in any such sport or game shall not be prohibited; that the license may be revoked; and that in cities and towns in which amateur sports or games are permitted under existing law such amateur sports or games may be held until the act is accepted or the provisions of the existing law fail of acceptance on resubmission to the people.

Anthony K. Neviackas had three hundred and sixty-nine (369). Harold E. Shaw had twelve hundred and eighty-seven (1287).
