Jos. R. BRYANT,-Sir : We send you one of your safes ; it has proved itself a good article, and has done better than any other Safe for the fire it stood.

We would like to exchange it for another, as we would not have any other kind of Safe. It stood the hottest of the fire; and the Safe was as red hot as it could have been had its been In a furnace, and the books were in good condition when taken out. If you wish to make use of our name in the papers, you can do so, as we are perfectly satisfied with the Safe, and do not think it can be beat. Yours, &c. BAM'L B. REED & CO.

The above Safe was in the fire from twenty minutes before twelve o'clock until pine o'clock next day, and the building

in which it stood was entirely; burned down. The Cafe and some of the papers it contained at the time of the fire, may be seen af the Manufactory.

A GOOD SATE .- The Safe of Samuel B. Reed & Co., made by Jos. R. Bryant, of Boston, Mass., was taken out of the ruins of the Inte fire, red hot, and the books were preserved in good condition .- Portland Advertiser, Nov. 5, 1851.
