tions maintaining billboards which are not exempt under Sections 30 and 32 of Chapter 93 of the General Laws shall file with the Town Clerk and Selectmen the papers required by clauses (A) and (B) thereof.
If any provision of the foregoing by-law shall be held void by any court or disapproval by the Attorney General, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions thereof.

Article 36. Voted: To amend the by-laws by the adoption of the following new section :
Section 408. For all original licenses under Section 14 of Chap- ter 148 of the General Laws and Acts in amendment thereof and in addition thereto, the following fees shall be charged: .
For a private garage for not more than two cars
no part of which is let out for hire, $1.00
For all other licenses under said section 2.00

Article 37. Voted: That the Committee on new Town Hall and War Memorial be authorized to place an electric Fixture on the second floor corridor of the Town Hall where an opening exists therefor, said fixture to be in keeping with the others in the building, and that all monies heretofore appropriated for any work under the direction of said committee and unexpended, including all monies, payment of which has been withheld on account of non-performance of breach of any contract or agreement, shall hereafter be accounted for and disbursed as one fund for the completion of any work under the committees charge.
Article 38. Voted: That no action be taken under this article.
Article 39. Mr. Heffernan of the Appropriation Committee :
To raise and appropriate the sum of $672.38 for the installation of a traffic light at Lincoln Square the same to be expended under the direction of the Police Department.
Mr. Alfred C. Sheehy moved indefinite postponement of the sub- ject matter as to a light at Lincoln Square. So voted.
Mr. Arthur I. Negus moved: That a light be installed at Inde- pendence Square.
Mr. Josiah B. Reed moved as an amendment: That the sum of $575.00 be raised and appropriated for the above purpose.
Mr. George E. Cunniff moved: That the subject matter of this item be referred to the Police Department. So voted.

Article 40. Mr. Heffernan of the Appropriation Committee moved : That the Park Commissioners be instructed to continue the suit brought by order of the Special Town Meeting held August 11, 1930, and numbered 23,249 on the current docket of the Superior Court of Norfolk County until the same is ripe for a final decree and that further action under this article be referred to the next Town Meeting.
Mr. Stuart H. Briggs moved as an amendment: To add the word "annual" before the last word.
Mr. William B. Dasha moved: That the subject matter of this article be indefinitely postponed and the committee discharged.
The question on the amendment to indefinitely postpone was put before the meeting and was declared not a vote.

Mr. Stanley Heald moved as a substitute motion : That the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $600.00 for the purpose of providing quarters for Weymouth Post No. 79, American Legion for the year 1931, as provided by Section 9, Chapter 40 of the General Laws and amendments thereto.
The question on the amendment was put before the meeting and it was so voted, a unanimous vote.
Article 46. Voted unanimously: To accept from Wessagusset Post No. 1399, Veterans of Foreign Wars a framed copy of the Dec- laration of Independence and a mahogany framed copy of the Con- stitution of the United States to be hung in the Weymouth High School in such place that the Principal of the school may select, and that the thanks of the Town be extended to Wessagusset Post No. 1399, Veterans of Foreign Wars for their gift.
Article 47. Mr. Heffernan of the Appropriation Committee moved: That no action be taken under this article.

Mr. Joseph A. Fern moved as a substitute motion : That the sum of $600.00 be raised and appropriated for the purpose of providing suitable headquarters for Wessagusset Post No. 1399, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, this in accordance with Section No. 9, Chapter No. 40 of the General Laws of the State of Massachu- setts.
The question on the substitute motion of Mr. Fern was put be- fore the meeting and it was so voted.
Article 48. Voted: To raise and appropriate the sum of $4,000.00 for further construction work at Legion Memorial Field, the same to be expended under the direction of the Committee heretofore appointed.
Article 49. Voted : unanimously : That the Board of Selectmen be authorized to purchase or take by right of eminent domain, with or without the buildings thereon, a certain parcel of land situated on Church Street and bounded and described as follows : Beginning on Church Street, so called, at the Southerly corner of land of the North Parish in Weymouth, and running Northwesterly by land of said Parish to the Westerly corner thereof, thence running North- westerly by land of Howard M. Dow to the location of the South Shore Railroad, thence running Westerly by the location of said railroad to land of the heirs of James Blanchard, thence running Southeasterly by land of heirs of said Blanchard to Church Street, and thence running Northeasterly by said Church Street to the point of beginning and containing three (3) acres more or less; being the same premises conveyed by Nelson A. Hallett, Jr. and Mary E. Hal- lett to William Whitman by deed dated September 27, 1907 and re- corded with Norfolk Deeds, Book 1064, Page 475; and that the sum of $3,000.00 be raised and appropriated for said purpose; and that the further sum of $1,500.00 be raised and appropriated for the pur- pose of obtaining plans and bids on a new School House to be located on said premises, said latter sum to be expended under the direction of a committee to be appointed by the Moderator consisting of the Superintendent of Schools, two members of the School Committee and four other persons.
The tellers reported 99 voting in the affirmative and none in the negative, a unanimous vote.
Article 50. Voted : To raise and appropriate the sum of $15,000.00 for the construction of a lunch room on land in the rear of Wey- mouth High School, the same to be expended under the direction of the School Committee.
This question was put before the meeting and it was unanimously voted.
Article 51. Voted: That no action be taken under this article.
Article 52. Voted unanimously: To raise and appropriate the sum of $100.00 for building new voting booths and other repairs on the wooden building on Broad Street formerly occupied as the Ward 2 Fire Engine House, the money to be expended under the direction of the Selectmen and the booths to be so constructed that they can be installed without alteration in the new Ward 2 Fire Engine House at the corner of Broad and Putnam Streets.

Article 53. Voted: That the Board of Selectmen be authorized to institute on behalf of the Town such proceedings before any Court or administrative board or official for the abatement of the nuisance caused by oil and grease in the waters and along the shores of Wey- mouth Fore River as to them shall seem expedient, and that the sum of $2,000.00 be raised and appropriated for the expense of such pro- ceedings to be expended under the direction of the Legal Department not exceeding $300.00 of which may be spent for confidential inves- tigation for which expenditures the certificate of the Town Counsel that the money has been expended for said purpose shall be a suffi- cient voucher.
Article 54. Voted: That no action be taken under this article.
Article 55. Voted : To raise and appropriate the sum of $5,200.00 for the purchase of a new squad truck for the Fire Department, the same to be expended by the Chief of the Fire Department, with the approval of the Selectmen and that the Chief be also authorized to deliver the present squad truck as part payment thereon.
Voted : On motion of Mr. John F. Dwyer : That a rising vote of thanks be extended to the Members of the Appropriation Committee for the careful consideration of the articles in the warrant for the year 1931.
Voted : On motion of Mr. Charles S. Bicknell to adjourn without date, the time being 12:10 A. M.
