Births, Marriages and Deaths recorded during the year 1931


BIRTHS


The total number of births recorded during the year of 1931 were 535; Males 258; Females 277; of this number 434 were born in Weymouth and 101 were born elsewhere. There were born in Wey- mouth of parents living elsewhere 186; either parent born in Wey- mouth 151; either parent born in other cities and towns in the United States 687 ; either parent born in a foreign country 219; birth- place of either parent unknown 11.


The total number of births in each quarter of the year were" 137, 132, 135, 131.


MARRIAGES


The total number of marriages recorded during the year 1931. were 160; marriage ceremony performed in Weymouth were 80; ceremony performed in other cities and towns of Massachusetts were 73; ceremony performed in other states 7; either party to the marriage ceremony born in Weymouth 57; either party born in other cities and towns in the United States 212; either party born in foreign countries 51.


The total number of marriages in each quarter of the year were 18, 48, 51, 43.


DEATHS


The total number of deaths recorded during the year were 290; of this number 247 were males and 143 females; died in Weymouth 234; died elsewhere 56; of the total number who died in Weymouth 38 were residents of other cities and towns; 85 of, the decedents were born in Weymouth; 135 were born in other cities and towns in the United States and 70 were born in foreign countries. 94 of the decedents were single; 104 were married; 88 were widowed and 4 were divorced. .


The ages of the decedents were as follows: Stillbirths 18; under 1 year of age 14; from 1 to 5 years of age 6; from 5 to 20 years of age 13; from 20 to 50 years of age 43; from 50 to 80 years of age 152; from 80 to 90 years of age 32 and over 90 years of age 12.


The total number of deaths in each quarter of the year were 71, 70, 77, 72.
