This makes a total expenditure by these six departments of $163,250. leaving but $7,750. spent for all other departments in the Town.
Of this $163,250. spent by these six departments, the twenty classi- fications above specified account for $100,225. leaving a balance to be spent for miscellaneous items in these six departments of $63,025. This added to the $7,750. spent by all of the other departments, makes a total of $70,755. worth of miscellaneous material to be purchased.
43
Inasmuch as the total spent by the Town for purchased materials is only approximately $171,000. per year, and even of this $171,000. $100,225. is classified above, and in view of the fact that the minimum yearly cost of maintaining a purchasing department would be $4,000. we do not feel that a purchasing agent could save enough for the Town to even offset the cost of his department.

PETITION FOR RECOUNT
Weymouth, Mass., March 15, 1938.
To the Registrars of Voters of the Town of Weymouth
We, the undersigned voters of the Town of Weymouth, have reason to believe and do believe that the records, or copies of records, made by the election officers of all the precincts in said town are erroneous in this respect :
That votes cast for Joseph A. Fern to the office of Selectmen were not properly tabulated for him by the election officers and believe that a recount of all votes cast for Selectmen in said town will effect his election as a member of said Board of Selectmen.
