Useful lessons may be given to older pupils on such subjects as the care of the sick, treatment of wounds, burns, frost-bites, stopping the flow of blood from severed arteries, of persons rescued from drowning, and of those who have swallowed poison or taken an overdose of opiates.


At every opportunity teach the effects of stimulants and tobacco on all parts of the body and all organs.


Gymnastics.


Let neither half of the forenoon or afternoon sessions pass without some form of gymnastic exercises. Have frequent exercises in breathing.

Follow outline given by Mr. H. T. Bailey. Lessons given every other week.


Music.


Daily. Follow Normal Course in music.

ARTICLE 11.


Voted, that a discount of five per cent. be allowed upon all taxes paid on or before October 1, 1891. Four per cent. on or before November 1, 1891. Three per cent. on or before Decem- ber 1, 1891.


ARTICLE 17.


Relating to raising and appropriating money for the transpor- tation of the West Grammar and High school scholars from High High Street and Grove Street school districts.


Voted, to indefinitely postpone.


ARTICLE 16.


Relating to the town authorizing the School Committee to unite the High, Grove and Central Street schools and furnish transpor- tation.


Voted, to indefinitely postpone.


ARTICLE 14.


Relating to the town raising and appropriating money for the transportation of Neck and Egypt schools to North Main Street school.


Voted, to indefinitely postpone.


ARTICLE 15.


Relating to the town raising and appropriating money for the transportation of Grove Street school to Central Street school.

ARTICLE 7.


Voted, that the town authorize their Treasurer to borrow money, under the direction of the Selectmen in anticipation of taxes of the present year and all sums be payable from said taxes.


ARTICLE 12.


To make allowances to town creditors.


Voted, that Mr. Israel C. Dalby, be paid $50 for his services as School Committee.

Mr. Dalby declined to receive any compensation for his services.


Voted, that a vote of thanks be extended to Mr. Israel C. Dalby for his free services as School Committee.


ARTICLE 24.


Relating to instructing Road Commissioners to cause as much extra highway labor to be done in the westerly section of the town as has been done in the easterly.


Voted, to pass over.


ARTICLE. 5.


Voted, that the rate of wages for removing snow be 25 cents an hour.


ARTICLE 6.


Voted to accept the list of jurors as prepared by the Selectmen.


ARTICLE 8.


Voted, that the town authorize the Overseers of Poor to con- tract at their discretion for the support of the town poor.


ARTICLE 28.


Voted, that the town raise and appropriate the sum of $2,500 to build the road at Fourth Cliff as ordered by the County Com- missioners, and that the Road Commissioners put the building of said road out by proposals. Notice of said proposals to be posted two weeks before the unsealing of the same.


ARTICLE 22.


Relating to the town accepting the title as given by Turner Litchfield of land for enlargement of Town Hall lot.

ARTICLE 29.


Voted, that the town raise and appropriate $200 to widen and raise the road-bed on Main Street between Grove Street and the residence of Joseph O. Marsh.

Relating to the town choosing a committee of five, including the School Committee, to decide upon location and procure plans for new High school building.

'To either of the Constables of the Town of Scituate, in said County, GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are direeted to notify the inhab- itants of the Town of Seituate, qualified to vote in eleetions and in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Seituate, on Monday, the seventh day of Mareh next, at nine o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles :


ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside in said meeting.


ART. 2. To choose all necessary town officers for the year ensuing.


ART. 3. To hear the annual report of the Seleetmen and other town officers, and aet thereon.


ART. 4. To raise sueh sums of money as may be necessary to defray town charges for the ensuing year, and make appropriations of the same.

ART. 6. To aet on the list of Jurors as proposed by the Selectmen.


ART. 7. To see if the Town will authorize the Overseers of the Poor to contract, at their diseretion, for the support of the Town's poor.


ART. 8. To see if the Town will authorize their Treasurer to borrow money uuder the direction of the Seleetmen, in anticipation of taxes.


ART. 9. To hear the report of any Committee heretofore ehosen, and aet thereon.


ART. 10. To see if the Town will raise and appropriate the sum of $100 for Memorial Day.


ART. 11. To make Allowquees to Town Creditors or aet thereon.


ART. 12. To see if the Town will determine the way and manner in which their taxes shall be collected, or aet thereon.


ART. 13. To ballot on the question of granting Licenses for the Sale of Intoxicating Liquors in this Town-the ballots to be " Yes," or " No," in answer to the question, " Shall Licenses be granted for the Sale of Intoxicating Liquors in this Town?"


ART. 14. Will the Town unite with Duxbury and Marshfield iu employing a Superin- tendent of Sehools ?


ART. 15. Will the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $300 for the salary of the Superintendent of Schools?


ART. 16. Will the Town authorize the School Committee to unite the High Street School with the Grove Street School, and furnish transportation for the pupils ?


ART. 17. Will the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $200, to fit up the gallery in the High School building for a recitation-room, aud build a wood-shed for wood and eoal, as recommended by the School Committee ?


ART. 18. To see if the Town will rescind and revoke their vote of March 3d, 1890, wherein they accepted of the provisions of Chapter 158 of the Statutes of 1871, and ehose three " Road Commissioners," and abolish the same.


ART. 19. To see if the Town will raise and appropriate $50 to take up and relay the bridges on Cedar Street, or aet thereon.


ART. 20. To see if the Town will raise and appropriate the sum of $200 for repairs on the Sea-Wall on Front Street.


ART. 21. To see if the Town will vote to lay out aud construct a " Town Way," on the northerly end of the Third Cliff, from the resideuee of Mrs. John Mitehell to the Public way near the store of Mr. John Cummings. The length of the proposed Town Way is about twenty rods, through land of E. P. Weleh.


ART. 22. Will the Town instruet the Seleetmen to take land to enlarge Town Hall lot. ART. 23. Will the Town raise and appropriate $1,250.00, said sum to be used for the purchase of two second-hand fire engines, with hose and all necessary applianees, and main- tain the same for one year, or aet thereou.


ART. 24. Will the Town accept the provisions of Sections 28 to 39 inelusive of Chap- ter 35 of the Publie Statutes, or aet thereon.


ART. 25. Will the Town iustruct the Selectmen to place the Fire Department under the charge of a Board of Engineers, or act thereon.


ART. 26. To see if the Town will purchase a new Road Machine.


ART. 27. Will the Town raise and appropriate $500.00 to elear the sidewalks of snow. ART. 28. Will the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $25.00 for eare of the " Old Meeting House Lane Cemetery," so-called, to be spent under the direction of the Selectmen.


ART. 29. Will the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $300.00 to raise and grade Front Street, in Scituate Harbor, from the residence of George H. Webb to Frederic S. San- born's.


ART. 30. What aetion will the Town take in regard to rebuilding or repairing bridge on road leading to the Second Cliff.


ART. 31. Will the Town accept of road at the Neek, as recommended by the Road Commissioners, or aet thereon.


And you are directed to serve this Warrant by posting up attested copies thereof in each of the Post Offices in the said Town seven days at least before the time for holding said meet- ing. Hereof fail not, and make due return of this Warrant, with your doings thercon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of meeting aforesaid.
