SCITUATE HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM
MONDAY, THE 30TH DAY OF JULY, 1934 at 8 o'clock P. M., then and there to act on the following articles :
ARTICLE 1
Will the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $40,000 to be expended for the care of roads under the direction of the highway surveyor or act thereon?

Will the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $35,000 to be expended in completing the town parking place at Scituate Harbor under the direction of the high- way surveyor, said work to be done by citizens of Scitu- ate with a minimum rate of 65c per hour for labor and a rate for trucks with capacity of 3,000 lbs. or over of $2.00 per hour? Will the Town vote to accept general laws, chapter 82, section 37, as amended by the acts of 1925, chapter 130, which provides that building lines may be established in the same way that streets are laid out and subject to such claims for damages as may result therefrom, or act in any manner thereon? Will the Town vote in accordance with the provisions of said chapter 82, section 37 to accept the building line proposed to be established by the selectmen on the west- erly side of Front Street, 15 feet in from the present line of the street, with a provision in said layout that buildings or parts of buildings non-existing between said building line and the street be permitted to remain and to be maintained notwithstanding said building line, or act in any manner thereon? ARTICLE 8
Will the Town vote to accept general laws, chapter 82, section 34 as follows: If the city council of a city or town accepts this section or has accepted the correspond- ing provisions of earlier laws, the board of officers au- thorized to lay out highways or town ways, may reserve spaces between the sidelines thereof . . . for trees and grass and for planting. ARTICLE 9
Will the Town by a two thirds vote raise and appropri- ate the sum of $1,474.00 and authorize and instruct the selectmen to purchase or take by eminent domain as they may deem advisable for street widening purposes, the unoccupied land between said or such building line de-

Tellers appointed by the Moderator and sworn by the Town Clerk William M. Wade, were: George H. Otis, Russell L. Fish, James A. Anderson and George F. Hennigan.
Annie M. Somers and Bertha L. Turner were ap- pointed as Assistant Registrars and were duly sworn to their duties.
Article 1 under the warrant was taken up for discus- sion. A motion to indefinitely postpone was superseded by a motion to adjourn. When put to a vote, the motion to adjourn was carried with 391 in the affirmative and a scattering few opposed. The meeting adjourned at 8.30 o'clock P. M.

TUESDAY, THE 6th DAY of NOVEMBER, 1934, at 6 o'clock in the forenoon, to give in their votes for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Attorney General, Senator in Congress, Con- gressman Fifteenth District, Councillor Second District, Senator, Norfolk and Plymouth District, Representative in General Court Second Plymouth District, District At- torney Southeastern District, and Clerk of Courts, Register of Deeds, One County Commissioner, Two Associate Commissioners for Plymouth County.
Also to vote "Yes" or "No" on the following :
Question No. 1. Law Submitted Upon Referendum After Passage. Shall a law described as follows: This law amends General Laws, chapter 131, as previously amended, by repealing section 105A thereof and adding

thereto three new sections, 105B, 105C, and 114A.
Section 105B provides that whoever uses any trap or other device for capture of fur bearing animals, which is not designed to kill such animal at once or to take it unhurt and which is likely to cause continued suffering to an animal caught therein, shall be fined fifty dollars, but traps or other devices for protection of property, set not more than fifty yards from any building, cultivated plot, or enclosures used for rearing poultry or game birds, to the use of which the presence of vermin may be detrimental, are excluded from the application of this section.
Section 105C provides for the submission to the voters at a municipal election in any city or town upon petition, of the question of whether the operation of section 105B shall be suspended or if it has been already suspended, of the question whether it shall again be operative in such city or town.
Section 114A provides that the Commissioner of Con- servation may suspend the operation of section 105B for a period not exceeding thirty days within any specified territory under the control of his department.
The law also provides for the submission, by the select- men to the voters at a special town meeting in the current year, upon petition, of the question as to whether the provisions of section 105B shall be suspended in any town; and which was approved by both branches of the General Court by vote not recorded, be approved ?

To obtain a full expression of opinion, voters should vote on both of the following questions :
(a) If a voter desires to permit the sale of any and all alcoholic beverages in this town he will vote "yes" on both questions.
(b) If he desires to permit the sale of wines and malt beverages only herein, he will vote "no" on question 1 and "yes" on question 2.

(c) If he desires to prohibit the sale of any and all al- coholic beverages herein, he will vote "no" on both questions.
1. Shall licenses be granted in this town for the sale therein of all alcoholic beverages (whiskey, rum, gin, malt beverages, wines and all other alcoholic beverages) ?
2. Shall licenses be granted in this town for the sale therein of wines and malt beverages (wines and beer, ale and all other malt beverages) ?
and by the Acts of 1934, Chapter 374, Section 14, the fol- lowing questions :-
1. Shall the pari-mutuel system of betting on licensed horse races be permitted in this county ?
2. Shall the pari-mutuel system of betting on licensed dog races be permitted in this county?
All the above to be voted for on one ballot in the man- ner prescribed by law.

Law Submitted Upon Referendum After Passage:
Shall a law described as follows :-
This law amends General Laws, chapter 131, as previ- ously amended, by repealing section 105A thereof and adding thereto three new sections, 105B, 105C, and 114A.
Section 105B provides that whoever uses any trap or other device for capture of fur bearing animals, which is not designed to kill such animal at once or to take it unhurt and which is likely to cause continued suffering to an animal caught therein, shall be fined fifty dollars, but traps or other devices for protection of property, set not more than fifty yards from any building, cultivated plot, or enclosures used for rearing poultry or game birds, to the use of which the presence of vermin may be detrimental, are excluded from the application of this section.
Section 105C provides for the submission to the voters at a municipal election in any city or town upon petition, of the question of whether the operation of section 105B shall be suspended or if it has been already suspended, of the question whether it shall again be operative in such city or town.
Section 114A provides that the Commissioner of Con- servation may suspend the operation of section 105B for a period not exceeding thirty days within any speci- fied territory under the control of his department.
The law also provides for the submission, by the se- lectmen to the voters at a special town meeting in the current year, upon petition, of the question as to whether

the provisions of section 105B shall be suspended in any town; and which was approved by both branches of the General Court by vote not recorded, be approved ?

(b) If he desires to permit the sale of wines and malt beverages only herein, he will vote "NO" on question 1 and "YES" on question 2.
(c) If he desires to prohibit the sale of any and all alcoholic beverages herein, he will vote "NO" on both questions.
