Statement of Special Accountant on Books of Municipal Light Plant.

EVERETT W. EATON, ALBERT W. FLINT, GEORGE W. LINNELL, Auditors of the Town of Wakefield, Mass :

GENTLEMEN : - As requested, I have audited the books of the Wakefield municipal light plant from February 1, 1900, to January 31, 1901, inclusive. Commencing with the cash balance February I, 1900, of $3,929.08 I find the plant has received in cash from all sources, with exception of appropriations, $23,256.96 ; from appro- priations, $2,300 ; making a total of $29,486.04. The total expend- itures, including all extensions, has been $29,195.47, leaving a bal- ance February 1, 1901, of $290.57, made up as follows :

At town treasury,

Balance general appropriation, . ·

Balance, £ $290 57

I find that all disbursements and receipts have been properly posted to their respective accounts in the ledger ; that since June 30, 1900, when a new set of books were opened, a trial balance has been taken off at the end of each month, and that the books for the entire year are correct and in excellent condition.

CUSHMAN E. HARDEN, Accountant.

Personally appeared Cushman E. Harden and made oath that the foregoing statement, by him subscribed, is true.
