Report of Selectmen
We wish to thank the various departments for their hearty co-operation during the past year.
We feel that Warren P. Laughton has served the town very faithfully as Police Chief and as Chief of the Fire De- partment.
Our road work has been very capably handled by our Superintendent of Streets, Daniel A. Penpraese. Most of this work has been under Chapter 81, "The Small Town Act", the State bearing one-third of the expense. Work under this Act has been a distinct advantage to the Town and should be accepted again this year.
A permanent road has been constructed on Manley Street at a cost of $9,355.10. $7,091.94 was expended for the continuation of the permanent road on East Street, the State and County bearing three-quarters of the expense in the construcion of these roads.
We feel that some permanent road work should be com- pleted each year.
JAMES A. HEMENWAY, JOHN S. BARKER, WALTER C. WHITING.
Report of Fire Department
