RECORDS OF TOWN MEETINGS FOR THE YEAR ENDING MARCH, 1894.
Annual Town Meeting, April 3, 1893.
Article I .- To choose a Moderator to preside in said ineeting.
James W. Moore was elected.
Article 2 .- To choose all necessary town officers for the ensuing year.
Henry A. Huntington and Elmer E. McIntire, ap- pointed ballot clerks by the selectmen, were sworn to a faithful discharge of their duties by the Town Clerk.
Later in the day, Geo. D. Fisk, Thos. M. Roberts and Oscar L. King were appointed temporary ballot clerks and sworn by the Town Clerk.
A sealed package of official ballots, together with spec- imen ballots and cards of instruction was delivered to the ballot clerks and their receipt taken for the same. The seal on the package was publicly broken and the cards of instruction posted. The ballot box was inspected and found empty-the register dial set at o-o-0. The polls were then declared open.
Voted, That the polls be closed at 3 P. M.

When the time for closing the polls arrived, it was voted to extend the time until 3.15 P. M.

Article 6 .- To see if the town will authorize its Treas- urer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow tein- porarily, in anticipation of the taxes of the present mu- nicipal year, the sumn of six thousand dollars, as the same may be from time to time required, and to give the note or notes of the town for money so borrowed, and that he also be authorized to pay such loans fromn said taxes.

Article 7 .- To see if the town will authorize its Treas- urer, upon the approval of the Selectmen, to negotiate a loan to replace any existing loan.
Voted, That the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and is hereby authorized to borrow for the purpose of funding the out- standing debt of the town a sum not to exceed $25,000.00, at a rate of interest not to exceed four per cent. per annum and to give the notes of the town therefor, and to take such steps as are necessary in the matter.

Article 8 .- To see if the town will appropriate a sum not to exceed thirty-five dollars for memorial day.

Voted, That the sum of sixteen thousand, two hundred and forty- five dollars, in addition to the State and County taxes be assessed up- on the polls of the inhabitants and the estates of the residents and non-residents of Agawam, and be committed to the Collectors of Tax- es for collection on or before Sept. 1, 1893.
Article 10 .- To see if the town will authorize the Se- lectmen to take legal and proper means to obtain a new apportionment of the expense of maintaining and repair- ing the south end bridge across the Connecticut river.

Voted, That J, H. Churchill be appointed a Committee to act with the Selectmen, in the endeavor to get a reapportionment of the ex- pense of maintaining the south end bridge.
Voted, To instruct the Selectmen to petition the County Commis- sioners to bear a part of the expense incurred by the replanking of the south end bridge.
Article II .- To see what action the town will take for draining the highway in Agawam, beginning at the wa- tering tank and running to factory brook.
Voted, On Motion of W. H. Porter, that the Selectmen be instruct- ed to construct a sewer from a point on east side of Main street, oppo- site Elm street, running to factory brook, of sufficient size to carry all drainage ; and that one-half the expense be assessed upon the abuttors.
Article 12 .- To see if the town will instruct the Se- lectmen to survey and locate obscure boundary lines on any of the highways of the town.
Voted, That the Selectmen are instructed and directed to survey, locate, and mark the boundary line of the highway leading from Ag- awam bridge to the Connecticut line, as said line was laid out and lo- cated by a survey made in March, 1817. Stone posts to be put at each angle and cross road on the west line of said highway. This survey to be made on or before the first day of June, 1893, and the cost there- of to be paid from highway appropriations.
Voted, To amend the above by voting that the Selectmen petition the County Commissioners to locate and relocate obscure boundary lines on any of the highways of the town.
Article 13 .- To see if the town will appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of a safe for the preservation of the town records.
Voted, To appropriate the sum of two hundred dollars for the pur- chase of a safe.
Article 14 .- To see if the town will accept the provi- sions of chapter 423 of the Acts of the Legislature for the year 1890 ; said section relating to precinct voting at State and National elections.

State Election, Nov. 7, 1893.
To either of the Constables of the Town of Agawam, in said County of Hampden :
GREETING :- In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are required to notify and warn the

inhabitants of the Town of Agawamn, qualified to vote in elections, to ineet in the Town Hall in Feeding Hills, in said town on the seventh day of November next, it being the Tuesday next after the first Monday in said month, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to bring in their votes for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth, Councillor for District number eight, Secretary of State, Treasurer and Receiver-General, Au- ditor, Attorney General, Senator for second Hampden Senatorial District, Representative to the General Court for Hampden District number one, County Commissioner, Register of Deeds, Register of Probate, and two special Commissioners, all on one ballot.
Also, to vote YES or No, on the question "Shall the proposed amendment to the Constitution relative to the payment of mileage to members of the General Court be approved and ratified ?"
The polls will be opened at ten o'clock A. M., and may be closed at two P. M.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies thereof, one in each of the post offices and one in the store of Henry Letellier, in said town, four- teen days at least before the time of holding said meet- ing.

At a meeting of the Town Clerks of the several towns comprising the first Hampden Representative District, held at the Clerk's office in Westfield, at 12 o'clock, noon, on Friday, the seventeenth day of November, 1893, the transcripts were examined and compared and the whole number of ballots found to be cast for Representative in said Representative District were found to be ten hun- dred and seventy-four, of which Albert E.
