In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the legal voters of the Town of Arlington, to meet in the Town Hall in said Town on Wednesday, the twenty-fourth day of April, 1935 at 8:00 o'clock, P.M., to act on the following Articles, viz :
Article 1. To hear and act upon the reports of the Finance and other committees heretofore appointed.
Article 2. To see if the Town will amend its Zoning By-Law, Appendix A, by striking out paragraph 2 of clause (b) of Section 3, which reads as follows: "2. Double house, duplex house, two-family house or group house consisting of three or more contiguous single family houses separated by fire resisting party walls;" and insert- ing in place thereof, the following: "2. Double house, duplex house or two-family house;".

To see if the Town will amend Section 12 of its Zoning By-law, Appendix A, by striking out the words "semi-detached or group" in the sixth line of para- graph B so that the same shall read as follows: "B. No part of any building, except uncovered steps, shall be constructed, altered, enlarged, reconstructed or moved, so as to be less than ten feet from any street line, or ex- cept one and two-car garages less than five feet from the line of any adjoining lot except in the case of a party wall of a double house, or less than ten feet from any other

To see if the Town will transfer the fol- lowing unexpended balances of the 1934 Street Construc- tion appropriation, totaling $2,637.08, now available in the treasury, and appropriated under Article 24 in the Warrant of the Annual Town Meeting held March 21, 1934: Bailey Road, $457.14; Burch Street, $376.56; Glou- cester Street, $536.74; Philips Street, $3.16; Scituate Street, $1,260.50 and Sunset Road, $2.98; to Construc- tion of Ways, to be used for the original construction in- cluding land damages on all or any of the following streets constructed during the year 1934: Bailey Road, Burch Street, Gloucester Street, Philips Street, Scituate Street and Sunset Road, and to be expended under the direction of the Board of Public Works; or take any action relating thereto.

Arlington, Mass., April 13, 1935.
Middlesex County :
By virtue of this warrant I have notified and warned the legal voters of the Town of Arlington to meet at the time and place and for the purposes herein named by causing a printed attested copy of the same to be left at every dwelling house in the Town, and by posting an attested copy at the doors of the Town Hall seven days at least before said day of meeting and by posting at- tested copies in two or more conspicuous places in each voting precinct in the Town. A notice of the time, place and objects of the meeting was published in the local papers.

Pursuant to the Warrant of the Selectmen served according to law upon the inhabitants of the Town of Arlington, by a constable of the said Town, and sent by mail by the Town Clerk seven days before the day of meeting to the Town Meeting Members duly elected and qualified to act in Town Meetings in Arlington, the Town Meeting Members met at the Robbins Memorial Town Hall in said Town on Wednesday, April 24, 1935 at eight o'clock in the evening.
Lists of the duly qualified Town Meeting Members were used at the entrance of the meeting place and were in charge of Philip T. Robinson and James E. Sweeney.

The check lists filed with the Town Clerk at the close of the meeting showed that one hundred and fifty-two members attended the meeting.
James C. Carr, stenographer, was sworn by the Town Clerk to impartially and correctly report the proceedings of the meeting to the best of his ability.
The Moderator called the meeting to order at 8:10 o'clock P.M. declaring a quorum present.
The Moderator requested any Town Meeting Mem- bers who had not already been sworn to stand and be sworn.
The Town Clerk read the call and the Constable's Return of the Warrant, the reading of the remainder of the Warrant being waived by the unanimous consent of the meeting.

At the request of Charles M. MacMillin, Mr. Fitz- gerald, who is not a citizen of the Town of Arlington was given an opportunity to speak on the substance of this article. Mr. Fitzgerald spoke at length in regard to a proposed development of this property.

Article 1. To hear and act upon the reports of the Finance and other committees heretofore appointed.
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of financing the construction of a building (an addition to the High School Buildings), including a gymnasium, to be used for school purposes including administration, the completion of the "auditorium" including coat rooms, lavatories, etc., in the High School building, all upon land of the town situated on Massachusetts Avenue; authorize and direct the Selectmen or a committee of the town to accept on behalf of the town, for use in carrying out such project, a Federal grant of money pursuant to the Emergency Re- lief Appropriation Act of 1935; authorize the Board of Selectmen or such committee to construct said project and contract with respect thereto; and authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow such sums as may be necessary to meet any appropriation made; or will take any action with relation to such con- struction, to the completion of the said auditorium or other parts of said buildings, or to any additions to, or alterations or repairs of, said High School buildings; de- termine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating to all or any of the foregoing.
Article 3. To see if the Town will authorize the committee of five appointed by the Moderator in accord- ance with the vote passed under Article 42 of the war- rant for the annual meeting (to inquire into the inequali- ties of pay and pensions among town employees) to in- quire into the inequalities of pay and pensions among town officers, officials and employees and to recommend

such adjustments as may seem equitable; will make an additional appropriation of fifty dollars or any other sum for the use of such committee; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.
Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to appro- priate a sum or sums of money to meet expenditures for public welfare, old age assistance, soldier's relief, Works Progress Administration projects, expenses of the Sealer of Weights and Measures, and expenses of the Board of Cemetery Commissioners; provide for these appropria- tions by borrowing under authority of and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 49 of the Acts of 1933 as amended by Chapter 300 of the Acts of 1935, or take any action relative thereto.
Article 5. To see if the Town will sell, convey or otherwise dispose of the two parcels of land hereinafter described, which are now parts of the public parks within the town; will petition the General Court for authority so to sell, convey or dispose of said parcels or either of them; will make an appropriation for the purpose; de- termine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.
Said parcels are described as follows:
1. A certain parcel of land, being part of lot num- bered twelve (12) shown on a plan entitled, "Plan No. 2, of land in Arlington, Mass., taken for park purposes under Chapter 267, Acts Year 1896, dated April 9, 1897, H. S. Adams, C. E.," signed by the Board of Park Com- missioners of said Town of Arlington, recorded with Mid- dlesex South District Deeds, Book of Plans No. 103, Plan 11, and bounded and described as follows :- Beginning on the easterly side of Chestnut Street at a stone bound on the former boundary line between land of Samuel G.

Damon and land of Bernard McGowan; thence the line runs North 37°31' East, along said former boundary line about one hundred and forty-three (143) feet, to land formerly of said Damon; thence turning and running South 82° 30' East, and bounding northeasterly on said land formerly of Damon fifteen and 5-100 (15.05) feet to other land of grantor; thence turning and running South 42° 23' West, and bounding southeasterly on other land of grantor one hundred and fifty-one and 5-100 (151.05) feet to the point of beginning.
