That the Board of Public Works be and hereby is empow- ered on behalf of the Town of Arlington to grant to the Town of Lexington an easement approximately forty (40) feet in width, more or less, and approximately one hundred twelve (112) feet in length, more or less, for the purpose of laying, maintaining, repairing and removing sewer pipes over a strip of land owned by the Town of Arlington in said Town of Lexington, bounded and described substantially as follows:
The centerline of the said sewer easement begins at a point in the rear lot line of Lot 204 in the Arlington Heights Terrace Development, said point being northeasterly and distant 15 feet from the lot corner between Lots 203 and 204 in said development ,thence S 32° 17' 02" E distant 112.04 feet to a manhole on the trunk line sewer, said manhole being southwesterly and distant 150.60 feet from a manhole at an angle point on said trunk line sewer, and for a width of 20 feet on each side of the above-described centerline, said easement being on and across property of the Town of Arlington, all as shown on a plan entitled, "Plan of Proposed

On being put to a vote, the Moderator declared the mo- tion carried.
Thereupon, on motion duly made and seconded, it was
Voted: That a Committee of five Town Meeting Members be appointed by the Moderator to arrange a suitable way to memorialize the name of Daniel P. at 8 o'clock P.M., at which time and place the following articles are to be acted upon and determined exclusively by town meeting members, in accordance with, and subject to, the referenda provided for by Chapter 43A of the General Laws.
Article 1. To hear and act upon the reports of the Fi- nance and other committees heretofore appointed.
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to appoint a committee to investigate the library facilities in East Arl- ington; make an appropriation for the use of said commit- tee; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 4. To see if the Town will make an additional appropriation or appropriations for public welfare, includ- ing Aid, General Relief and Old Age Assistance; provide for all or any of these appropriations by borrowing money under authority of and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 49 of the Acts of 1933, as amended, or by any other provision of law, or by transfer or otherwise; or take any action reletive to all or any of the foregoing.
Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to compromise the claim of the Gen- eral Construction Company for damages resulting from certain land takings by eminent domain; make an appro- priation therefor ; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.
Article 6. To see if the Town will take any action rela- tive to providing Extra Special Compensation for the year 1949, to enable elected and appointed officers and employees of the Town to meet the present abnormal increase in the cost of living; determine in what manner such compensa- tion, if any, shall be raised and expended; or take any ac- tion relating thereto.

Article 8. To see if the Town will amend its zoning by-laws by altering the zoning map therein referred to so as to include in the Residence C District all or any part of the area now included in the Residence B District, bounded and described as follows :

By virtue of this warrant I have notified and warned the legal voters of the Town of Arlington to meet at the time and place and for the purposes herein specified by causing a printed attested copy of said warrant to be left at every dwelling house in the Town, and by posting an attested copy of said warrant at the doors of the Town Hall and in two or more conspicuous places in each of the fourteen pre- cincts of the Town, seven days at least before the day of said meeting. A notice of the time, place and objects of the meet- ing was published in the local papers.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
Arlington, October 17, 1949.
Pursuant to the Warrant of the Selectmen served ac- cording to law upon the inhabitants of the Town of Arling- ton by a Constable of said Town, and notices having been published in the local newspapers and sent by mail by the Town Clerk, at least seven days before the date of meeting to the Town Meeting Members elected and qualified to act in Town Meetings in Arlington, the Town Meeting Members so qualified met in the Robbins Memorial Town Hall on Mon- day evening, October 17, 1949. The Warrant calling the meeting was the notice sent by mail by the Town Clerk.
Lists of the duly qualified Town Meeting Members were used at the entrances of the meeting place and were in charge of Philip T. Robinson and James E. Sweeney. The lists con- tained the names of two hundred fifty-three Town Meeting Members.
The Check Lists filed with the Town Clerk at the close of the meeting showed that one hundred and eighty-nine mem- bers and seven members-at-large attended the meeting.
