Article 62. To see if the Town will authorize the acquisition by purchase, eminent domain or otherwise of any land easements or rights therein, including an easement or easements in land adjoining the location of any or all public ways, the laying out of which is accepted at this meeting, consisting of a right to have the land of the location protected by having the surface of such adjoining land slope from the boundary of the location; make an appropriation for such acquisition; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.
Article 63. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, or transfer from available funds in the treasury, a sum or sums of money for the reconstruction of any or all parts of the following streets or ways within the Town: Pond Lane, Lewis Avenue, Beacon Street, Park Street, Decatur Street, and North Union Street; or take any action relating thereto.
Article 64. To see if the Town will amend its Zoning By-Laws by altering the zoning map therein referred to so as to include in the Residence C District the area now included partly in the Business A District and partly in the Residence B District, bounded and des- cribed as follows:

Article 68. To see if the Town will accept a gift to the Town of a parcel of land at the southeasterly corner of Franklin Street and Broadway from Louis Gordon.

Article 69. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum or sums of money to be expended under the direction of the Committee appointed under Article 86 of the Warrant for the 1956 Annual Town Meeting, said appropriation to be added to the amount appropriated under said Article 86 for the purpose of construction, including fur- nishings and equipment, of additions to the present high school build- ing and also for the remodelling and reconstruction of said building; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating to any or all of the foregoing.

Article 70. To see if the Town will vote to appoint a committee of five, one of whom shall be the Town Clerk, to investigate, consider and make recommendations as to the advisability of installing voting machines in any or all of the precincts of the Town, said commmittee to report not later than the 1959 Annual Town Meeting; appropriate a sum of money for use of said committee; determine in what man- ner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.
Article 71. To see if the Town will make an appropriation to determine fully the Town's right, title and interest in Town-owned land known as the Great Meadows located in Lexington, and to provide for a land survey and the installation of suitable markers to define the boundaries of said land; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.
Article 72. To see if the Town will vote to make an appropria- tion of a sum of money to be expended under the direction of the Town Manager and the Peirce School Playground Improvement Com- mittee for the improvement of the Peirce School playground area; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take action relating thereto.

Article 73. To see if the Town will vote to create a Stabilization Fund in accordance with provisions contained in Mass. General Laws (Ter. Article 75. To see if the Town, through its Town Meeting Mem- bers, will recommend that the Board of Selectmen cause all necessary action to be taken to determine if Federal Aid can be obtained under existing legislation, and to qualify for such aid if available, to assist the Town in its program for the relocation of Mystic Street, the im- provement of the Arlington Center business area, and for the solution of traffic problems in Arlington Center; or take any action relating thereto.
Article 76. To see if the Town will transfer the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) from the Mount Pleasant Cemetery sale of graves and lots fund to the Cemetery Commissioners for the im- provement of the Town Cemeteries.

Article 77. Article 78. To see if the Town will vote to relieve the older residents by half of their taxes. These people must have been residents for thirty years or more and paid taxes for that time and be on Social Security with no other income.

To see if the Town will authorize taking a sum of money voted for the appropriations heretofore made at this Town Meeting under this Warrant, and not voted to be borrowed from any available funds in the treasury and will authorize the Assessors to use free cash in the treasury in any available funds to an amount not exceeding $400,000.00, in the determination of the 1958 tax rate.

By virtue of this warrant I have notified and warned the legal voters of the Town of Arlington to meet at the time and place and for the purposes herein specified by causing a printed attested copy of said warrant to be left at every dwelling house in the Town, and by posting an attested copy of said warrant at the doors of the Town Hall and in two or more conspicuous places in each of the fourteen precincts of the Town, seven days at least before the day of said meeting. A notice of the time, place and objects of the meeting was published in the local papers.
