There shall be allowed a discount on all taxes assessed of five (5) per cent. if paid on or before Oct. 1st, and three (3) per cent. if paid on or before Dec. 1st next, if the whole tax assessed to them is paid at one time. The Auditor shall audit the accounts of the Tax Collector within three days after the first days of October and December, and said Collector shall pay to the Town Treasurer all money he may have received, on or before the fifth days of October and December.
And furthermore, the Auditor shall audit the accounts of the Collector between the 15th and 20th days of February next, and the Collector shall pay to the Town Treasurer all money he may have received, within five days after the said twentieth day of February.
And the Assessors are instructed to complete the assessment of taxes on or before July 1st next, and issue their warrant to the Col- lector of Taxes, with a list of persons assessed, with their places of abode, within five days after the said first day of July.

24th. .. Voted, to appropriate the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25) for the purpose of distributing books from the Public Library, in the south part of the Town.
25th. Voted, to dismiss the 24th article, which relates to closing the Long-Sought-For School, and authorizing the School Committee to transport the pupils to the Wright School.
26th. Voted, to dismiss the 25th article, which relates to authorizing or directing the School Committee to close the Minot's Corner School, and transport the pupils to the Center Schools.

27th. Voted. to dismiss the 26th article, which relates to appropriating money for transportation of scholars.
28th. Voted, that the matter of the 27th article be referred to the School Committee. Said article is as follows : "By request of Thomas E. Symmes, to see if the Town will vote to substitute an out-door march under military rules in place of the ordinary recess in our public schools, and act in relation to the same."
29th. Voted, to refer the provisions of the 28th article to the Selectmen. Said article is as follows : "By request of the same,. to see if the Town will vote to provide a suitable number of single privy booths for each school, with a self-registering apparatus acces- sible to the teacher, and act in relation to the same."
30th. Voted, to dismiss Article 29, which relates to appropri- ating money for a trial of the provisions of the 28th article.
31st. Voted, to authorize the Selectmen to enforce the law in regard to fishing on Sunday.
32d. Voted, to authorize the Selectmen to buy a piece of land near Graniteville, to be used as a public dump.
33d. Voted, to adopt the 32d article, which is: "To see if the Town will vote to elect a committee, consisting of one person from each School District, so called, to act with the Selectmen to investi- gate and report at the next annual meeting for the election of Town Officers, in regard to discontinuing any road or roads in Town as public ways, and act in relation to the same."
34th. Voted, that the Selectmen be authorized to appoint a committee of one from each School District, and as many more as they see fit, to carry out the provisions of the preceding vote.
35th. Voted, that the Selectmen be anthorized to carry out the decree of the County Commissioners in regard to the relocation of streets in the Center of the Town, and that the sum of fifteen hun- dred dollars ($1500) be appropriated for that purpose.
36th. Voted, to accept the minutes of the meeting.
37th. Voted, to dissolve the meeting.

FOREST FIRES.
During the past year the damage from forest fires has been comparatively small. The wet weather in the spring, and the vote . passed at the last annual Town Meeting instructing the Selectmen to enforce the law against Sunday fishing, did much to lessen these fires.
