20. In regard to Article 18, which was :- " To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treasurer, under the written direction of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time to meet the demands on the treasury, and act in relation to the same", the Town voted to give such authority to the Town Treasurer.
21. Voted, that the taxes of those who pay only a poll tax, be payable at sight, and all other taxes shall be payable on the first day of January next, and if any taxes remain unpaid after that date, the Collector shall charge interest on such taxes overdue, at such rate per annum as the law may prescribe, and collect the same according to law.
There shall be allowed a discount on all taxes assessed, of five (5) per cent, if paid on or before November I, and three (3) per cent. if paid on or before Decen ber I, next if the whole tax assessed to them is paid at one time. The Auditor shall audit the accounts of the Tax Collector within three days after the first day of Novem- ber and December, and said Collector shall pay to the Town Treas- urer all the money he may have received, on or before the fifth days of November and December.
And furthermore, the Auditor shall audit the accounts of the Collector between the 15th and 20th days of February next, and the Collector shall pay to the Town Treasurer all money he may have received within five days after the said twentieth day of February.
And the Assessors are instructed to complete the assessment of taxes on or before July Ist next, and issue their warrant to the Col- lector of Taxes, with a list of persons assessed, with their places of abode, within five days after the said first day of July.

28. Voted, to adopt plan No. I of the Committee on Higways, which plan is as follows :
This plan provides for minor repairs to be made by town teams and men, but all large jobs to be done by contract. Sealed bids to be invited and contracts to be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder for delivering gravel by the load, the size of load, quality of material, rate of delivery and place of delivery to be clearly specified. Written contracts to be executed, with penalty attached for failure to fulfil the conditions of the contract.
29. Voted, that the Selectmen be instructed to report the amount expended on the roads, by giving the amount expended on each road, as named in the Westford Directory, or by the known name of said road.
30. Voted, to grant the use of the Town Hall tree once a month to any organization in Town for a public meeting where an admission fee is not charged; such grant to be subject to the unanimous approval of the School Committee.
31. Voted, to adopt the provisions of Article 28, which is as follows :- " To see if the Town will authorize and direct the School Committee to close the Long Sought. For School, and transport the scholars- to another school."
32. Voted, to dismiss Art. 29, which was, " To see if the Town will vote to accept the previsions of Section 332, Chapter 548, Acts of 1898."

We have erected new guide posts and guide boards at the Nashoba Road, Brookside Corner, and at the corner of the roads

near Fletcher's quarry. We have also repaired and repainted a number of guide boards that had become weather-beaten. A few more should be repainted the coming year.
