Library Report.
The Trustees of the J. V. Fletcher Public Library respect- fully submit the following report for the year ending February 1, 1914.
With the exception of some small changes the general work of the Library has been carried on as usual.
It will be seen by the Librarian's report that the circulation has increased about two thousand over last year.
The magazine list has been changed somewhat, as it was thought that the addition of some of the magazines might increase the circulation of this class of reading matter.
The library has been very fortunate in regard to the number of books presented during the year. Over seventy-five books have been given, all of them being current literature.
After a long term of faithful and efficient service as janitor of the library building, Mr. Ai Bicknell resigned on January 1st of the present year, and Mr. Chas. H. Pickering was engaged in his place.
The Trustees ask for the following appropriations, viz. :
1. The unexpended balances as shown by the financial statement.
2. The sum of twelve hundred dollars ($1,200) to meet current expenses.
3. The receipts from the dog licenses in 1914.
The additional two hundred dollars ($200) is asked for at this time for the purpose of rearranging and remodeling the catalogue system. On account of the increase in circulation during the past few years, it seems almost necessary that this work should be done.
JULIAN A. CAMERON, CHARLES O. PRESCOTT, JOHN P. WRIGHT, Secretary.

We regret that it was necessary for us to run over our appropriation this year; an unexpectedly heavy crop of corn made it seem advisable to erect a new silo to store it in; the old one had never been large enough to hold sufficient ensilage to last through the winter. The appraisal of ensilage shows a gain in value of $284.00 over that of last year.
The net expense at the Town Farm this year was $709, and the number of inmates increased from three to five. The appraisal of the property at the Town Farm shows a gain in value of $670.35 over last year.
