I think you should know too that the Lowell Police have co- operated with us one hundred per cent, both in radio service and in criminal investigations. That kind of cooperation means a great deal to us in our work and we certainly appreciate it.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank the Board of Selectmen. Court Officers, Officer O'Connell, and the other special officers of the Town of Westford for their advice, cooperation and assistance during the past year.
Respectfully submitted,
JOHN F. SULLIVAN,
Chief of Police.

REPORT OF THE TREE WARDEN
As usual my work has been removing dead trees from the road- side and removing broken limbs from others.
I would suggest that some maple trees be set out on Depot Street. The money to be taken from income of the Whitney Fund.
I am suggesting that the Town appropriate $700.00 for spraying elm beetle. They are bad all over town.
Respectfully submitted,
HARRY L. NESMITH,
Tree Warden.

The year 1941 proved to be a bad year. Fifty-five fires in all. I have issued two hundred and twenty-five fire permits.
The fire that came in from Groton was one of the worst fires we have had in years and the new chassis that was purchased for the Sprayer proved to be of great help in carrying water for this purpose.
I would suggest the sum of $1,500.00 be appropriated this year to care for this work.
Respectfully submitted,
HARRY L. NESMITH,
Forest Warden.

REPORT OF THE BOARD OF HEALTH
January 22, 1942
The Westford Board of Health submits the following report for the year ending December 31, 1941:
The Pre-School and School Clinics still thrive with great opportun- ities for the children to be immunized from Diphtheria and also pro- vides facilities for Vaccination from Small Pox. I would again like to inform the public of the great good these clinics do for the children and the community by the fact that there has not been a case of Diph- theria reported in the Town of Westford since the starting of these Clinics over ten years ago. It is a great mistake for people to overlook these great advantages for the health of the children.
The milk supply, raised, produced and delivered in the Town im- proves from year to year and we wish to inform the public that we have in town three pasteurization plants which deliver pasteurized milk. At the present time practically all the milk delivered in the town can be procured pasteurized, if so desired.
Contagious and infectious diseases are regularly watched by the Board of Health and by the Health Nurse, both at the schools and es- pecially by follow up work at the homes. The conditions could be helped with more cooperation from the heads of the families at various times, to the advantage of all concerned. This past year shows a marked reduction in the number of Contagious and infectious diseases.
The Dental Clinic is now under the charge of Dr. James C. Coughlin of Lowell, and is doing good work and has been patronized very freely by the children, but great improvement can be made by the parents taking more interest in the care of the teeth of the children and also by seeing that the children take advantage of these opportunities. If these conditions were observed it would greatly help the endeavors of the Dentist and the Public Health Nurse and the Health Department in their endeavors to better the health and welfare of the children.
The Board of Health has kept their expenditures within the bud- get appropriated by the Town of Westford as their usual yearly pro- cedure and feel elated over the fact, because a great deal of their expenditure cannot be ascertaind before making up their yearly budget.
Following this report is the report of the Public Health Nurse, who has faithfully and conscientiously performed her various and many duties in a most satisfactory manner.
Respectfully submitted,
CYRIL A. BLANEY, M. D., Chairman, CARL H. HANSON, Sec.
RALPH K. COLEMAN, M.D.D.O. Members of the Board of Health.
