TOWN WARRANT.


COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.


MIDDLESEX S. S.


To SAMUEL R. RICE, Constable of the Town of Wilmington. Greeting :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Wilmington qualified by law to vote in state and town affairs to meet and assemble at the Town Hall, on Monday, the first day of March next, at nine o'clock in the forenoon the polls to be opened at ten o'clock A. M. and may be closed at four o'clock P. M., for the election of officers and to act upon the following articles, viz :---


ART. I. To choose a moderator to preside at said meeting. ART. II. To bring in your votes on one ballot for three Se- lectmen, three Assessors, three Overseers of the Poor, Town Clerk, Treasurer, Collector of Taxes, School Committee for three years, Constable, three Auditors, three Fence Viewers, also shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in this town. Yes or No.


ART. III. To choose all other necessary town officers for the year ensuing.


ART. IV. To hear reports of committees and act thereon.


ART. v. To see how much money the town will raise and appropriate for the support of schools, for school books and supplies, for salary of school committee, highways and roads and bridges, support of poor, repairs on public buildings, for improving the ceme- tery (old and new) public library, town officers, remov-

ing snow, miscellaneous expenses, printing, notes payable and interest, state and county tax, and out- standing indebtedness.


ART. VI. To see what method the town will adopt for the collections of taxes.


ART. VII. To see if the town will authorize the town trea- surer with the sanction of the selectmen to borrow money in anticipation of taxes when necessary to meet current demands for the ensuing municipal year, the same to be paid out of this year's taxes.


ART. VIII. To see how much money the town will raise and appropriate for the observance of Memorial day.


ART. IX. To see if the town will vote to perfect the manu- script record of deaths in the town clerk's office by additions from the gravestones in the cemetery and family records, the expense of the same to be paid from the miscellaneous appropriation.


ART. x. To see if the town will authorize the printing of 500 copies of the manuscript record of births, mar- riages and deaths, from 1694 to 1897, under the di- rection of the town clerk, the expense of the same to be paid from the miscellaneous appropriation, said copies to be deposited in the town clerk's office and to be disposed of to any and all persons for twenty-five cents a copy, and all sums received by him therefor shall be turned into the treasury of the town.


ART. XI. To see if the town will vote to give the Good Templars the use of the Town Hall two evenings in the month.


ART. XII. To see if the town will accept the sum of one hundred dollars from the Estate of Thomas P. Eames, the income of said sum to be expended annually upon his lot in the cemetery.


ART. XIII. To see if the town will raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money for the purpose of locating and bounding at least five miles of the highways each year, commencing at the Town Hall.


ART. XIV. To see if the town will vote to raise and appro-

priate the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars for the purpose of making necessary alterations in the interior of the Town Hall.


Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the town clerk at the time and place of said meeting.


Given under our hands at Wilmington this, the ninth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.
