WARRANT FOR TOWN MEETING.


COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.


MIDDLESEX, SS.


To SAMUEL R. RICE, Constable of the Town of Wilmington. Greeting :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Wilmington, qualified by law to vote in State and Town af- fairs, to meet and assemble at the Town Hall, on Monday, the second day of March next, at nine o'clock in the forenoon. The polls to be opened at ten o'clock A. M., and may be closed at four o'clock P. M., for the election of officers and to act upon the fol- lowing articles, viz :-


ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.


ART. 2. To bring in your votes on one ballot for all town offi- cers for the ensuing year required by law to be chosen by ballot.


ART. 3. To choose all other necessary town officers for the year ensuing.


ART. 4. To hear reports of committees and act thereon.


ART. 5. To see how much money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for the support of schools, school books and supplies, salary of school committee, highways, and roads and bridges, support of poor, repairs of public build- ings, for improving the grounds of the common, the ceme- tery (old and new), public library, town officers, remov- ing snow, miscellaneous expenses, notes payable and inter- est, State and County tax, outstanding indebtedness, and police and fire wardens.


ART. 6. To see what method the town will adopt for the collec- tion of taxes.

ART. 7. To see if the town will authorize the Town Treasurer, with the sanction of the Selectmen, to borrow money in anticipation of taxes, when necessary to meet current de- mands for the ensuing municipal year, the same to be paid out of this year's taxes.


ART. S. Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in this town? Yes or No.


ART. 9. To see how much money the town will raise and ap- propriate for the observance of Memorial Day.


ART. 10. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of fourteen hundred dollars for the purpose of building a school house on the site of the one destroyed by fire on Butters row in the south district.


ART. II. To see if the town will vote to instruct the Superin- tendent of Streets to employ none but resident legal voters upon the highway work of the town.


ART. 12. To see if the town will vote' to build a school house in any part of the town, and raise and appropriate money therefor, or do anything in relation to the subject.


ART. 13. To see what action the town will take in regard to furnishing additional school accommodation, as recom- mended by the School Committee.


ART. 14. To see if the Town will vote to raise a sum of money for the purpose of purchasing a new hearse.


ART. 15. To see if the Town will vote to employ a Superin- tendent of Schools and make an appropriation for the same.


Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at the time and place of said meeting.


Given under our hands at Wilmington, this, the tenth day of February in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.
