AUDITOR'S REPORT.

We hereby certify that we have examined the Treas- urer's accounts for 1898, Collector's books (F. A. Eames) for 1893-'98, and find them properly cast and vouched, also Seventeen Hundred Ninety 186 Dollars in the Treasury.

Collector's books (E. M. Nichols) for years 1888-'92, have been destroyed by fire, and of the balance, $2330.58, as per Town Report of January 5, 1898, none has been col, lected during the past year.

Selectmens' accounts for 1898 we are unable to verify, as certain insurance policies, for which the town has paid the premiums on, are not at hand.

FRANK E. MILLETT. WVM. WARREN CARTER.

REPORT OF INSPECTOR OF CATTLE AND PROVISIONS.

No general inspection of cattle has been ordered by the Cattle Commissioners during the year but instructions have been given by them not to quarantine any cattle. Two re- quests have been made for quarantine which have been re- fused. Of these one died, the other was killed. Both were examined and found badly diseased. 279 cattle have been examined at slaughter houses and of them one was found diseased. 280 cattle have been brought from with- out the State ; of these two have been refused papers, the others pronounced healthy.

H. ALLEN SHELDON. Inspector of Cattle and Provisions.
